Regardless of the sites being taken down. It will still not effect in any way for israel to defend itself.

You don't need the internet to give orders, just a radio or field phone. It worked in WW2, why not now?

Here's the thing, though: Anonymous has taken up the mantle of a vigilante organization. When that happens, the inevitable questions are -

Does this group think it's above the law?

Does this group have morals we feel comfortable with?

Where does this group draw the line?

Can we count on it to do what's right, even when it wants to do otherwise?

How do we know this group is legitimate, and not a cover?

How do we know this group won't eventually work for itself, rather than the people?

Vigilante groups scare me. They can be useful, but they're also unstable. Do you want a rabid dog to guard your family?

Here's a quote from a book I once read...

"We're anarchists and outlaws, goddam it. Didn't you understand that much? We've got nothing to do with right-wing, left-wing or any other half-assed political category. If you work within the system, you come to one of the either/or choices that were implicit in the system from the beginning. You're talking like a medieval serf, asking the first agnostic whether he worships God or the Devil. We're outside the system's categories. You'll never get the hang of our game if you keep thinking in flat-earth imagery of right and left, good and evil, up and down.

I don't really think Anon gives a damn about your laws or morals to be honest... they are simply doing what they feel is right. And in this particular case I am behind them.

I believe they should be extra careful in who there dealing with, considering 3 of the members of the counsel of the 24 elders of the Judgment Seat are that off Jewish Heritage and it seems much of these people are pitted against Israel just want to wipe them out but what happens where they have to stand at their own Judgment after death and are seen to desire to wipe out Jewish heritage and the people???

Also, its the Salif radicals, the very same people who desire to wipe out the Pyramids are behind these attacks in the first instance creating cause to twist being misled in a spiritual deception that will not stand at the end.

You're right, they don't give a dam.
They are more like a committee where an idea of weather to take action or not is presented and those who feel its right and just take part, those who do not, don't.

Its that simple.

Granted, DDOS, SQL Injections, Database deleting and what not don't do a whole lot to stop a war, but its much like a fly in your face.
It can be very irritating and potentially costly.

It serves to spread a message. That many of us have had enough and it rallies people to stand together for a common cause.

You cannot deny the fact that they have done much to wake people up to what's really going on in this world.

As for forcing the governments to take drastic action in the form of shutting down the interweb? Well, I doubt very much that will be a very good idea on their part.

I guess anonymous didn't get the memo (or may be it was scrubbed by someone higher up) that Hamas started firing over 170 rockets into Israel four days before Israel started their pillar offensive.

This would make Anonymous a terrorist support group. I can only hope the CIA will put them on the terrorist watch group and no fly lists.

Yeah, not to say Anom is here right now to feed us that this is the right thing to do. If there that smart to hack those websites there also here to sway public opinion(Trust me ATS is a HOTSPOT). There goals are good, but in this case the goal is too goody 2 shoe for American support. Hamas needs to be gone, they are terrorists to current day Israel... This shouldn't be the fight they should be fighting. Either is fighting Gaza, it's an agreement were after, not taking sides.

You don't see anonymous hacking the Muslim Botherhood sites and Al Jizzrial(sp?) sites for declaring they will destroy the world heritage sites of the Pyramids and other site around the world already destroyed by these rag wearing fanatics.

I wonder how many Anonymous members are actually radical Islamics? Seems like a lot to me.

Anonymous = Internet Terrorist

Even if Anon took down major israeli websites/databases.....AND caused serious cyber damage....the gaza-Israel conflict would still not be a fair fight.

But please keep going Anon!!

I feel for the people of both regions and I want nothing more than an end to the deaths but of the two nations Israel instigated the war it wanted. So far cease fire negotions have all been shot down by Netanyahu. The man is a war monger and the innocent israeli's of the region are paying for his Zionist agenda. My thoughts on the matter.

Well obviously they aren't trying to stop Israel from defending itself.
They aren't even trying to do that at all. They couldn't.

From the linked article Anonymous states:

But when the government of Israel publicly threatened to sever all Internet and other telecommunications into and out of Gaza they crossed a line in the sand.

As the former dictator of Egypt Mubarack learned the hard way – we are ANONYMOUS and NO ONE shuts down the Internet on our watch. - TheNextWeb

This is clearly about sending a message regarding the freedom of information and a governments attempts to curtail it.

It's the same message they gave to the Egyptian government when they shut down access to the internet.

well in the blue corner you have israel.....9th most powerful military in the world, arguably most powerful military force in the middle east behind turkey.....huge air force.....very sophisticated.....gaza is like a video game to them specifically red alert 2......where they can deploy their tactics with pure EASE (cut power/ cut internet/communication/powder enemy with airstrikes before a ground invasion....so classic)

they have iron dome jointly designed with top american missile engineers/scientists.

In the red corner you have Gaza. Hamas a democratically, officially elected goevernment....with a few rockets in their pockets to protect themselves from being evicted of their own land and forcibly pushed into sinai/egypt.

Look at the stats in terms of casualties Palestine/gaza always tops the lists by several orders of magnitude.

When a boxer fights another boxer they are usually matched up equally in terms of stats/experience right?.....im using this as an analogy.

I understand that I do, but if a regime was sending missiles towards you and your loved ones but luckily you have enough protection to evade them wouldn't you be the slightest mad also??? It's time for Hamas to fall or a forceful agreement to happen.

I guess you didn't get the memo that fake Hamas members commit acts like that all of the time, just so Israel can have an excuse to "retaliate."

Or maybe the memo that Hamas 'terrorists" are responding to 65 years of occupation, theft, oppression and murder.

Or that the first generation of IDF was comprised of Israeli terrorists.

Your single bullet point is tiresome. Do some research, please.

Agreed, it's good to see Anon back to doing something worthwhile and noble after their hissy fits over free porn.

I also hope this is more than just DDoS
