Astronomy: What's floating around out there?

Mt. Wilson, 3am 041021, moon is 1st Qtr

Whazzat? to the left? always precedes the dawn.

How could Venus have gotten that big? Or, that close?

If it's the moon, why isn't it a HALF-moon-shaped?

You just wait. On Nov. 2nd, there's gonna be a great big one on this site in our faces, again.

Just like Oct 4th, Sept 6th, Aug 8th, July 10th, June 12th--

one week OFF the Full Moon cycle.

That makes two of us I have no Idea what that is. Where did you get it from? Any more info regarding this? Did you spot this personally?Also what are the dates you are reffering to?

But, corroborating evidence comes from Palomar Observatory in San Diego.

Same thing, different observatory. No full moon that night.

God, what amount of light pollution!

Exposure seems to be 3 mins.
That might make star clusters visible. (you can see some of those with naked eyes, just like M31)

My guess is they are seeing a cluster of some kind. As ET said, some star clusters are visible with the naked eye. You can see M51 from my back porch. The only thing that bothers me about classifying it as a cluster is the amount of light coming from the object in question.
