Good point. Discoveries of sarin gas, mustard gas shells, mobile bioweapon labs had nothing to do with it either. "No, no, no we don't mean thoseWMD's"

Wow...thanks for that. A testiment to how some folks still believe....

Mobile bioweapon labs??

Powell retraction

“I looked at the four [sources] that [the CIA] gave me for [the mobile bio-labs], and they stood behind them, ... Now it appears not to be the case that it was that solid. At the time I was preparing the presentation, it was presented to me as being solid.[21] April 3, 2004
I feel terrible ... [giving the speech] ... It's a blot. I'm the one who presented it on behalf of the United States to the world, and [it] will always be a part of my record. It was painful. It's painful now.[4]" 2005

— Colin L Powell

Pentagon report

The Pentagon produced a secret report in in 2003 entitled Final Technical Engineering Exploitation Report on Iraqi Suspected Biological Weapons-Associated Trailers that found that the trailers were impractical for biological agent production and almost certainly designed and built for the generation of hydrogen.

Piecing together the story of the weapons that weren't
usatoday30.usatoday.com...

I can't believe all these years later you still believe thier were mobile bioweapons labs...Collin Powell apologized for the fake info...the CIA debunked it.

Or, Perhaps Powell was less than truthful for other reasons? He certainly has become a political animal and political animals are not exactly known for veracity. He has said one thing once and another thing the later time. Was he lying then or is he lying now? Why is one statement taken as the truth when it is opposite other statements? He's not exactly established himself as a trustworthy person, has he? Did his source curball lie then or did he lie now? Or is the lie that fits the one you pick?

I'll use Wikileaks as a source since Y'all like them.

Nearly three years later, American troops were still finding WMD in the region. An armored Buffalo vehicle unearthed a cache of artillery shells “that was covered by sacks and leaves under an Iraqi Community Watch checkpoint. “The 155mm rounds are filled with an unknown liquid, and several of which are leaking a black tar-like substance.” Initial tests were inconclusive. But later, “the rounds tested positive for mustard.”

but it is another vindication of the primary reason for restarting the war: Hussein and Iraq had violated the truce and refused to comply even after 17 UN resolutions demanding compliance. Hussein never had any intention of abiding by the truce, for whatever motivations one wants to assign to him. After the invasion, the US proved (through an armed-version of Wikileaks in Iraq’s diplomatic files) that the UN had allowed Hussein to grab billions in personal wealth by perverting the embargo in the Oil-for-Food Program, which would have given Hussein the means to fuel another WMD program as soon as the West withdrew from Iraq, and to restart Hussein’s dreams of pan-Arab dominance through military adventurism.

On June 21, 2006 the U.S. House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence released key points from a classified report from the National Ground Intelligence Center on the recovery of a small number of degraded chemical munitions in Iraq. The report stated that "Coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent." However, all are thought to be pre-Gulf War munitions.[115]

These munitions meet the technical definition of weapons of mass destruction, according to the commander of the National Ground Intelligence Center. "These are chemical weapons as defined under the Chemical Weapons Convention, and yes ... they do constitute weapons of mass destruction,"

General Georges Sada, the former second-in-command of the Iraqi Air Force, claimed in his 2006 book that he knew two Iraqi pilots that flew WMD into Syria over the summer of 2002, which came before a later shipment on the ground. I asked Duelfer if Nizar Nayouf or the two Iraqi pilots were spoken with.

Regardless, the point still stands: If using or getting faulty intelligence is a gimme for Ms. Rice and Obama, why was not the same principle given to Bush and Powell? Are the same people saying to leave Rice alone also some of the same people that said "Bush lied, people died?" or are they going to give it a pass because it is their guy in the hotseat now?

"Bush lied people died" was something I have heard quite often from Democrats the last decade or so. It was a major part of the 2008 election.

Drill here, drill now annoyed me
People like simple phrases to chant over...
country first, hope and change, usa usa usa, etc.
Bush never lied about Iraq...frankly, there wasn't enough time for him to lie...But consider the timeframe
Afghanistan based terrorists attack USA
Afghani gov refuses to cooperate
Attack Afghanistan
World supports this
Bush says WMDs might be in Iraq
Most say "huh? what does that have to do with.."
Bush attacks Iraq before people can finish the sentence.

The hypocrisy from the left and silence from the media on Benghazi is quite obvious.

How do you define hypocracy?
Your upset that there is a investigation going on verses the rights odd desire for kneejerk reactionism?

Actually, this is being consistant.
Know the facts
Right now, we know that this story is complex...the right wing (Romney) condemned the POTUS as the attacks were still going on before there was news of deaths.

thats how -not- to be when in leadership.

-points to the polls-
No matter how much you don't like him, he is here for 4 more years.

An example of hypocrisy is excusing something that your favorite person did while condemning the same thing in someone else simply because he was not your favorite person. If you've never adopted the whole "bush lied" meme, then you are consistent and I applaude you for that. However, that is not what the DNC as a whole nor most of the media did is it?

I'll say you had something if you could prove to me that the criticism is fact... Without that your as bad as the men spreading this unfounded BS, which is truthfully at this point what it is. Get more facts and get back to me, or not that seems to be the mantra of the republican party.

Considering there is no racism or sexism at play here, your opinion is odd.

Where was the sexism? Where was the racism?

They called her out because she acted like a parrot in that she repeated whatever she was told without any regard to truth, fact, or intellect. Did she make any attempt to verify what she was saying was accurate? It doesnt appear so.

Okay let's be fair. What was the name of the UN ambassador during 9-11-2001? If you don't know the answer without research ask yourself why?

Yeah well if the jews are a race arabs are a race that would make Americans a race as well which leads up back to this comment:

Kinda guy you would have a beer with

Wow I said the same thing myself. If I had to pick a president to party with Gdub would win hands down.
IMO the biggest difference is that G.W. probably did not want to be the president. But Dad had other plans.
