In Southern California yesterday, for unknown reasons sent a train off its tracks. The derailment landed on exposed segment of pipeline. Authorities
shut down two pipelines one that serves the Valley of the Sun and the other Las Vegas.

One of two gasoline-supply lines into metro Phoenix has been shut down while workers examine and repair possible damage caused by a train derailment
on Wednesday morning near Fontana, Calif.
That pipeline, which came from Texas, ruptured and was down for 17 days. The California pipeline supplies the Valley with about 70 percent of its
gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. The shutdown comes as the high crude-oil prices have pushed the price of regular gasoline in metro Phoenix to $2.15 per
gallon. The record is $2.20, set in May.
A pipeline coming into the Valley from Texas continues to operate, and there is a six-day supply of gasoline .
There is about a three-day reserve of diesel. Heavy rains and flooding in the area have prevented workers from removing the wreckage and examining the
pipeline. Crews have also been hampered by floodwaters that cover the pipe.

As investigations continue if this pipeline has ruptured or not, the fire marshall may request the segment of pipe to be replaced. As in 2003, some
places in the Valley of the Sun had no gasoline for days and weeks. Panic set in and it was a nightmare. Prices were seen at $4.00 a gallon or $5.00.
Some cities were left without gasoline at all. Well if Arizona's are left without gas they may not make it to the Voting booth this election year.
As its only days away......
