It has been reported that Egyptian tanks backed By commandos are moving into the Sinai desert in order to fortify positions in the case of an all out war between Israel and Gaza after an Israeli operation killed the head of the military wing of the Islamist group Hamas in a missile strike on the Gaza Strip on Wednesday and launched a campaign of air strikes on the enclave

I am afraid this Israel - Palestine War may spread like wild Fire into neighboring countries . I smell an all out Regional War . Meanwhile , President Mohamed Morsy has instructed Prime Minister Hesham Qandil to head a high-level delegation to the Gaza Strip on Friday. LINK

Presidential Spokesperson Yasser Ali announced Thursday evening that President Mohamed Morsy has instructed Prime Minister Hesham Qandil to head a high-level delegation to the Gaza Strip on Friday.

Qandil's visit to Gaza will emphasize Egypt's solidarity with the people of Gaza in the face of brutal Israeli aggression, Ali said, as well as meet the urgent needs of the Palestinian people.

“The Egyptian leadership informed us that Prime Minister Hesham Qandil will visit Gaza tomorrow, accompanied by a number of ministers. We welcome this visit and appreciate this courageous stand,” Hamas spokesperson Taher al-Nunu told AFP.

Things are heating up. The bombs and plane runs only piss off the Muslim extremists more. Creating more hatred towards the Israeli's. The Israeli extremists will play the victim for as long as they need to back up there smack down of the Gaza strip.

Both sides are wacky, both sides are killing their own innocent people by continuing the violence. The region is always unstable with US presence everywhere and now this will surely spark it up another notch.

Based on the extremely limited info from that very questionable source, it sounds like they are just upping their alert status and increasing patrols on the border. Very common for that area and both sides do it when the other is up to anything.

That being said, I don't trust the new "leadership" in Egypt to NOT try to intervene.

Egypt will send tanks, show support of the palestinians and then fire on them if they try and cross the border into egypt. the tanks aren't there to fight the israeli army, they're there to keep the palestinians out.

Hers's the thing............they just took tanks out, as of August. So:

NY Times Link

Egypt on Wednesday withdrew some of the tanks it had deployed near the Israeli and Gaza borders as part of a military operation against militants in the Sinai Peninsula. The tank deployment this month had brought complaints from Israel because the peace treaty between the countries requires that the entry of the tanks into a zone along the border be coordinated with Israel. Israel had quietly agreed to Egypt’s sending thousands of troops into the area — also barred under the treaty — to fight militants, but it had not consented to the tanks.

Maybe that shouldn't have happened, or the propaganda dance continues!

The source quoted in the beforeitisnews article shows a picture of supposedly Egyptian tanks but it is a reused image of Israeli tanks - see use of same photo from a few years ago (guardian.co.uk). The file is even called 'A-column-of-Israeli-tanks-001.jpg'. I know that isn't proof that the story isn't true - I just don't like when they do such a thing.

Because, as much as Eqypt, Syria, Iran et al publicly back the palestinians, they don't want them living in their country.

See the post above about Israel approving of Egypt's troops in the region to fight "militants."

Those aren't Israeli militants they're fighting.

Thats funny . US has already declared it is supporting Israel in this war , why would then Egypt ask US for help to stop Israel from attacking Palestine ?

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr called on the United States to “immediately intervene” to end “Israeli aggression on Gaza, Reuters reported Thursday.

Amr “requested that the United States immediately intervene to stop Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people in Gaza,” MENA news agency reported, adding that Amr spoke to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by telephone.

I think you are still of the mistaken belief that the new leaders in Egypt are friends with the Palestinians. They are not. The only use the Brotherhood has for Palestinians is for propaganda purposes. This is the actual position of nearly all the Arabic states. None of them actually WANT Palestinians in their territory any more than Israel does. Palestinians tend to either bring or attract trouble.

That's because the muslim world is just using the palestinians as cannonfodder, and theyre dumb enough to buy into it. They never thought to wonder why Egypts borders were closed to them and they have nowhere else to go. That's because no one wants them, even Jordan doesn't want them and 3/4 of Jordan are palestinians. All those palestinian deaths mean nothing to those nations if it means they can retake Jerusalem and conquer Israel. It's all about bringing the Mahdi and the 12th Imam and re-establishing the Caliphate. The Muslim Brotherhood was created for that specific purpose, restoring the Caliphate, so no small wonder every nations flipped in the Arab spring, including Libya, Egypt landed in their hands and Syria will be next.

SWEET!!!! They shot down a great big rc plane??? wooohooooo

ETA: Update: Earlier reports of downed drone were incorrect, it was only a seagul.

Losses in conflict:

Israel Losses - 1 model rc plane
Gaza - Whats left of its inferiorstructure and hundreds of deaths.

The phrase "Act like youve been there before" comes to mind.

And I wonder how much of this is tied to the Lebanese spy Gilberte Khawam fighting with the Israeli spy Paula Broadwell over who had dibs on Petraeus?
