During the gaza war they shut communications down very good.
I only know of one channel that had audio/irc of what was going on - and I know at least one person in the channel was FBI. ( or had BEEN FBI in the past, he might have changed jobs, didn't ask.)

I looked into the accounts previous posts. It appears its not the real IDF. Just some one trolling twitter.

This prompted me to do the same. I agree-- in fact, from reading a handful of his tweets, it almost looks like he is a member of Hamas, to be frank. That is mere conjecture on my part, but whoever it is, he/she did say this:

Hamas is not our enemy. The real enemy are the Palestinians. How dare they demand their land back!

Ok, I see. There is a "Correction" at the bottom of the article that says the official (IDFSpokesperson) was not suspended, rather another (maybe fake/troll?) account that looks very similar called (IDFSpokesman).

Sneaky, and this whole situation is disturbing enough without some sinister being adding more confusion. Shame on he/she/it! Good catch, Twitter.

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that Harry has a satellite phone, which he can still tweet from if the Internet goes down around there. Or I guess satellite *could* be scrambled? Somebody more in the know needs to speak to the reliability of that particular technology.

Did you mean WWW or do I need a translation on what WW9 means? (Serious question- No sarcasm AT ALL!)

Oh, I'm sorry - usually www is the name of your public web server, you might have other machines that do other functions, or backups/mirrors for production. So ww9 is not the main public server. (The one the world sees.)

See, now that is why ATS is top notch. I learn something new everyday, even sometimes when I think somebody fat-fingered the keyboard. (Although it would take a REALLY fat finger to hit the 9 instead of the W now that I think about it, LoL) Thanks hadriana for throwing me a line to the collective knowledge!

What an awesome idea. I must admit, I have never actually tweeted, and only recently began to tune in to other people tweets (due to big news items.) I would never waste my time following a celebrity- beyond their acting, they mean nothing to me!

Again-- thanks for showing Harry we're with him!!!

Edit: Gotta get the dogs in from the fence and grab something to eat. Please keep an eye on things everybody, and post updates (if you have the time) 'til I get back... so I can know what transpired.
