I hope the live feeds stay on at least for a bit longer after the ceasefire. I would like to be able to see how long it holds.

Just sayin'

Iron Dome is running short and there are weapons on the way from Iran.

It's a pause to reload.

They started drones in 08-09 during the last conflict. Been there almost constantly since.

Ah interesting.

Each interception costs $30,000 to $50,000, according to former Defense Minister Amir Peretz. Israel argues that proves cost-effective in preventing lethal strikes, which could trigger a vastly more expensive war.

I'm sure that wasn't a gaffe on their part. If anything, it was probably a deliberate misdirection.

Prior to this week's fighting Israel had stockpiled the interceptors - whose exact quantity is a state secret.

And I'm willing to bet (based on nothing at all but my gut) that they're getting short and need time to replenish.

US President Barack Obama "commended the [Israeli] Prime Minister for agreeing to the Egyptian ceasefire proposal - which the President recommended the Prime Minster do - while reiterating that Israel maintains the right to defend itself," according to a statement from the White House. Mr Obama said that the "United States would use the opportunity offered by a ceasefire to intensify efforts to help Israel address its security needs, especially the issue of the smuggling of weapons and explosives into Gaza," the statement added.

Interesting. I'm guessing they figured a better solution to a costly ground war would be to ramp up efforts to cut Hamas off at the source instead. Iran swings back into target. Not that it ever left.

Why is there no feed up for Gaza? I hope they aren't hiding something.
