Or was it a flare I'm not sure it looked a bit like a lighting strike but orange in colour.

Forgive my ignorance but could those flares be white phosphorus flares?

They're magnesium illumination flares. There might have been one or two WP mixed in, but I haven't seen them "explode" the way a WP flare would.

Flares are dropped by aircraft to mark (paint) a target for naval guns
so if your near one...move
knowing they can airstrike at will ,it's like there live fire practicing on Gaza

I would think the drones could paint a target better , with lasers and all. but thats just a guess.

The blasts seem closer to the Reuters feed.

They can. The Hermes has thermal imaging cameras that can easily be used to illuminate the area.

The amount of explosions i am hearing is crazy guys. Seriously.

Naw, that was a shell. The shell puts off an audible humming, metallic sound, or whistling sound. Depending on who you ask.

What you just heard just then was a missile.

If you just heard something that sounded like a really loud wind just then, that was a missile.

What in gods name was that? It almost sounded like a slow firing MLRS firing two or three times. Too many to count in a very short period of time.
