I'm not convinced that all of them are UAVs. That one that I heard sounded like an RC/MC-12 Huron. It sounded too deep to be a single engine aircraft, which is what all the UAVs in use by the IAF are.

That definitely sounded like a multi-engine though.

More than one? Dissonance between prop RPM and pitch is evident.

They are low enough to film you think? Wish they would pan up and zoom so we could get a lookie...

I think the lingering ones are, but that one that just passed by sure sounded like more than a single-prop. Twin-engine.

ETA: It would be a waste of resources to have more than one drone in a given sector so the theory of a drone and additional assets in the area is very plausible.

"While refusing to divulge the performance levels of the new satellite, defense officials said Ofek 9 was by far one of the most advanced satellites Israel had launched into space. Officials said it was superior to the Eros B – launched in April 2006 – which has the ability to spot images on the ground as small as 70 cm., although they refused to divulge exactly what made it superior." sorce= The Jerusalem Post

At least one of them is a Huron. There could be some echo effect going on, but the one I heard was definitely a twin engine. It was too deep even for an echo to be causing it.

I know, I wish they would too.

I think you're right. They are having a Heron orbit the area, with a Huron coming through on another mission, or looking for something else.

As far as I know the IAF never operated the Bronco. I can't find any information that they have ever operated them.

That initial Crack was sharp, huh? Besides that it was a hi concussion bomb, it was also line of sight so when the shockwave hit the microphone the sound was not echoed around but direct.

Ca-raack!!!

Earlier yes.

About a couple of minutes ago, boom boom boom followed by popping/cracking like a firework maybe, then another boom.

I thought for a second there they started the naval guns again!

Israel seem to have taken it up a notch this morning. Gaza shrouded in black some now.

Any news on rockets hitting Israel? Seems to have gone quiet going that way?

Yes, the RC-12 Huron. Israel has between 22 and 29 depending on your source, although 22 seems to be the more common number given. They carry the Guardrail Common Sensor.
