There was a big quake in Mexico City, don't know how big ( reported to be a 6.1 ) because there is no information, hope everything is ok.

Later I will post more information about this big quake.

It felt like an 8.5 quake but now is reported to be a 6.1

All the big buildings in Mexico City are ok like Torre Major, WTC, and all the big ones.

This quake compared to the 7.4 quake of march 20 2012 felt a lot more strong.

The epicenter was closer but it was very strong believe me.

If it is that 5.7....

I will lose my #.

Nothing about that is mega.

Obviously not mega much bc if you're there, and it was mega, I'm almost positive there would be other things to attend to than searching for stars on ATS. And if you heard it from someone, I doubt they would have even thought to call you right away instead of dealing with more important matters that would arise from such a mega quake. So I'm guessing it wasn't very mega at all if there even was one.

I'll gladly eat my sweaty just got back from the gym shorts if I am wrong.

ETA: Alright alright, I see it's a 6.0. Big, but definitely not mega. Not even close. And 2, the quake is centered somewhere in Guerrero. That's like saying a quake centered near San Fran just occurred in LA.

Details posted here and further information in this post.

Certainly not a Megaquake, good sized one on land and in Mexico where a lot of the houses are poorly constructed.

Hope the damage is minimal.

The quake felt like the 85 quake, the news media is reporting that it was an 6.3 but it felt more strong than that.

The epicenter is located very close to Mexico City, I think that a quake in this location has never appear.

It's not just the magnitude, it';s the depth. You can have an 8 at 250km deep and a 5.5 at 5km and they'll feel similar.

This quake felt like an 8.5, don't care what the media is reporting this quake was big believe me.

The 7.8 quake of march 20 of 2012 was low compared to this one.

All people in Mexico City felt a big quake even in zones where the underground is full of rocks thanks to the xitle volcano, in this zone people never felt quakes because the floor is full of underground rocks.

Something is going on the earth it is not normal that so many big quakes appear everywhere.

I live in Mexico city.My baby boy awoke at about 3:15 then my wife, and my self. The quake happened at 3:20.We live on the 4th floor of a small apartment building and we felt a good amount of shaking that lasted for about 20 seconds.
In our apartment I could hear some cracking sounds ,and what sounded like sand if you had put it in a
box and shook it.This one felt quite strong but not quite as strong as the 7.3 we had back in March.I hope everyone is alright. Now itçs time I try to get back to sleep.Peace.

Need one more near Anchorage within a day and then it's California's turn within 6 days...unless Anchorage doesn't happen.

How do I know? Heck, this is ATS!
