I just stumbled upon a video of a HUGE storm! It shows footage from the ISS, uploaded by youtube member "BeePeeOilDisaster". The ISS is shown orbiting over the North Pacific.. with a RAGING storm :O

I want to know if this is valid footage!? or maybe old footage of Sandy? That thing loooks scary :O

Ats?

I see absolutely no reason to think this footage is in the northern pacific ocean. We only have this guys word and any storm that large would have already grabbed the attention of meteorologists everywhere.

That being said, I dont have any way to prove my theory right. It is just a gut feeling.

This is Infared satellite imaging from today (Well, late last night)

Same here
www.weatheroffice.gc.ca...

I see nothing of major concern other than more rain for us West Coasters. The video does show a hurricane, but its no in the pacific.

That is some storm. Judging by its location, its most likely winter in nature, rather than tropical. Alaska had a storm similar to this last winter. It had all of the traits of a hurricane but was winter instead of tropical.

I checked several satellite images of north pacific and it doesn't appear to be legit.

www.stormsurf.com...

I could link a few more but they're all the same. Probably just someone fear mongering with old footage.

Its most likely a Low Pressure System.
They look exactly like a hurricane.

Just to clarify ONE thing, Certainly couldn't be Sandy, because Sandy was in the Atlantic, You stated Northern Pacific in your Post. Just thought id point that out, and I'm surprised no one else caught that.

it's not MASSIVE but it exists.

Click all 106 images and speed it up.

To me it's like any other low pressure off Alaska or it could be the Aleutian low that should setup anyday now for winter.

yea like others said, it's probably a low pressure system, plus the guy sounds like forest gump.

Atlantic Hurricanes are small.....

Pacific Cyclones are huge in comparison
that image of a cyclonic weather pattern might just be a low pressure system (re: defcon5 post above) that is forming into a pretty intense Cyclone

no time stamps on the image?

As Defcon said, most likely just a very strong low pressure system. They pop up a lot in the winter in Alaska.
