There have been around 20 airstrikes so far, 10 people killed, 2 of them children.

Israel killed the commander of the Hamas military wing in one of some 20 airstrikes on the Gaza Strip Wednesday, the worst barrage on the Palestinian territory in four years in retaliation for renewed rocket fire on southern Israel. Gaza's health minister said 10 people were killed, two of them young children.

Benjamin Netanyahu has held a televised press conference alongside Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak. Netanyahu said the nation had sent a "clear message" to Hamas through the killing of its top military commander and is ready to "expand" its operation in Gaza if necessary.

I wonder if his sentiment would remain the same if the Arab league decided to take action?

Israel may have it's hands full depending on what the Arab league decides to do, the United States may end up getting dragged into this mess, but that is only if the Arab League isn't talking out their backsides again.

I really hope the US stays out of this mess unless provoked by one of our bases over there being attacked. Other then that, let Israel duke this one out alone like they did the last one...

If Israel gets jumped, I think Obama, may be backed into a corner, and feel the need to help Israel out.

Agreed. When I see the news that Israel is shelling, bombing and blasting its charges in the Gaza Prison, I immediately though of yahoo. He has been itching to blow something up hasn't he? Storming around the world, trying to foment war and illicit support in Washington, the UN, etc.

He finally couldn't contain himself any longer. What a drag it must be to be him.

I think it all going to come down to what Egypt will do in the next 24 hours, they have already withdrawn their ambassador from Israel, they won't want to be seen as week.

This whole mess could get out of control so fast the way the region is right now, especially if Israel march's on Gaza, as they have threaten to do.
