Think of Glass–Steagall. Both parties are squarely guilty of undermining this important regulation item.


If you do some more research on Glass-Steagall, you'll find that the interpretation and wording of the law left it worthless, which was one of the reasons they decided to just get rid of it. Banks had already found interpretation loopholes to work around it from the very beginning.

Wait, it did have some effect. In any case, letting it decay was a criminal endeavor.
