This article is not a defense of those things. It is a rebuttal to the false apocolyptic cries of the far-right who have declared that the re-election of Pres. Obama means America is gone and is now a socialist, tyranical regime. That is a natural conclusion if you took the GOPs rhetoric of the past few years as literal gospel. The irony is I am certain those who have been calling the President a socialist from the Right Wing Media and campaign trail have done so knowing full well it was not true, but desperate to sway voters to thier advantage. Now that the election is over, it is a bit shocking to see how many voters actually believed them and came to the natural conclusion that we are now the USSR. I think even the propagandists are a bit shocked at how effective thier BS was. It reminds me of a lesser version of the Christian Cult who declared the world would end last year...made a national tour..followers across the country gave up thier belongings and prepared for the end of times etc. And when the day came..They were dissapointed the world didn't end. Did they lose faith? Some...but most believed thier leader that he had just gotten the year wrong....next year...the world will end next year....

Correct, not the constituion...and NOT the declaration of independance.

The use of the word "Creaator" vs. God is not mysterious. It is not as if the founders couldn't remember the word for "God"...It was discussed and debated at the time. The choice of the word "Creator" was probably one of the most deliberate choices of words in that document AND was chosen by men who were devout Christians...what does that tell you?

You claim that without the word "God", there are no equal rights? The founders felt just the opposite, that to claim that our rights derived from the Christian religion would in fact deny the rights of any that chose to follow a different faith or none at all. The word "God" would have enshrined inequality...not ensured it. Our founders were great men.

What a warped view of where the Country has gone from the original construction.
We are more free, yet how many more laws are on the books as compared to even last year?
We are more free, yet we have a Fed Govt that is more vindictive of those that speak out against it?
We are more free, yet we have a Govt that can look into person aspects of a persons life?

There are SO many more to list, yet I don't have the time needed.

No, we are not more free, we are more controlled and more regulated then even a year ago.

And quoting someone from the Bush Admin as a Conservative?
Please find someone qualifying instead of parading around a Bush era RINO holdout.
