Here you go. My statistical analysis of the number of earthquakes that have occurred over the past two decades. Granted I did this over two years ago so it's not exactly up to date but it definitely shows that earthquakes are on the rise.

Earthquakes Are Not Increasing In Frequency

Hey AO I think it's pretty funny how they will say something about the planets alignment, but leave out the fact that the all of these planets including the sun, will align with the dark rift of our milky way,

If there was no threat way leave that most important aspect out,

On a side note wasn't there a thread about the milky way spewing massive amounts of energy from the massive black hole in the center?

but what do you think would happen if a massive energy eruption hits the sun charging it and it has to release it's energy to stabilize, and the shoots a massive solar flare that makes the outage of 1859 seem like childs play.

just some thoughts.

Well you just essentially described a deathray, but if something like that did indeed hit Earth, blackouts would be the least of our problems.

There is no planetary alignment this year that is special. Just the normal bunch of alignments that happen on a typical year. The last big alignment was back in 2000.

On a side note wasn't there a thread about the milky way spewing massive amounts of energy from the massive black hole in the center?

Of course there are always threads about things like this whether or not there is any backing to the idea.

abyss.uoregon.edu...

The most outstanding characteristic of the Sun is the fact that it emits huge quantities of electro-magnetic radiation of all wavelengths. The total output of the Sun is 3.99x10^33 ergs/sec.

The sun emits all of this energy every second and has for billions of years. A solar flare does emit a big amount more energy.

en.wikipedia.org...

A solar flare is a sudden brightening observed over the Sun's surface or the solar limb, which is interpreted as a large energy release of up to 6 × 10^25 joules of energy (about a sixth of the total energy output of the Sun each second

The 1859 event was not due to a flare. It was due to a CME. The two are very different. In the Carrington event the two were related.
en.wikipedia.org...

It would seem to me that if there were an event which transferred energy to the Sun from an external source, then the Earth would also receive a bathing in energy, not just the Sun. Any energy transferred to the Sun would be emitted in all direction just as the Sun does now. Due to the small size of the Earth only a few CMEs even hit the Earth.

A huge influx of energy would likely have a greater direct effect than an indirect effect.

What are you talking about? Is there something special about the date you mention? And why would the media be expected to cover that date? If this disturbs you then imagine how disturbed you'll be to learn that it's just another day.

The media loves fear mongering...

They hyped the crap out of y2k, they even hyped up may 21, 2011.....

Why the sudden change of heart? All of a sudden, the biggest of all possible prophetic dates comes around and the media is suddenly silent.

Do they suddenly care about people and want to spare them fear? I'm calling BS. The closer the date comes, without it making headline news, tells me that the possibility of something happening is much greater.

I'm waiting to see front page news about it. Even may 21, got front page news coverage, in big bold capital letters.

The media does love to fear mongering so does this site and most of the internet! The Y2K bug could of been a huge problem and was very much real, I remember the may 21 coverage but most of the coverage was comming from harold camping and his followers. The dec 21 hype has been covered substantially I just watched a documentary on CNBC , I just saw a magazine going over a bunch of 2012 predictions and prophecies, 2012 shows on history channel, true tv, and discovery channel, newspaper coverage, internet coverage, magazine coverage, local news coverage, and i've also seen fox, msnbc, abc, cnn, cbs all do multiple segments covering it. The dec 21 hype has been covered way more then harold camping's prediction and on dec 22 we may get a front page headline saying the world didn't end.

There's no media coverage because... Because 2012 is a hoax. On both the examples given in the OP, nothing happened. So why should anyone but crackpots cover a scamming lie?

Well that's what some people here find so strange. Harold Camping's prediction was also a hoax, so why did that get so much media attention?

I don't think you are getting it at all.

Outside the conspiracy community, 12/21/2012 is widely considered to be a joke. A nonsense fantasy of the same variety as Bigfoot and Flying Saucers. The media isn't playing it up because there aren't any large interest groups talking about it, as with Y2K.

Hell -- even actual Mayan scholars don't believe 12/21/2012 signifies the end of the world. It is simply the end of a cycle, albeit one based on empire-building, and selfishness.

Well that's what some people here find so strange. Harold Camping's prediction was also a hoax, so why did that get so much media attention?

Because Camping and his people directly contacted the media through a coordinated advertising campaign. Who is advertising 12/21/2012, how much money are they SPENDING to get their message out, and do they have a PR Office that can be contacted by the situation-room for follow up?

Right, wrong or otherwise, it's a huge difference.

Because, there wasn't a conspiracy to have a new order back then. The game is completely different now.

You're on a conspiracy site, shouldn't we all know what the elite seeks to do? People are quick to brush these things aside (some are agents), but it has to happen at some point no? The world cannot gather under them, if people do not die. The world cannot unite unless what Reagan said, happens. It is what it is and the people who toss these ideas, will be the exact same ones going crazy, when they do happen.

Not at all, because like the other events you mentioned, they have all proved to be ridiculously negate of anything meaningful, credible or substantial.

Again, isn't that the whole point? No one cares about 2012 after the Olympics, although it was a big ritual. No one is noticing the events that are going on in the world. Not that many people are prepped. Now is the time.

I probably didn't read enough of this thread to truly grasp the significance of your rebuttal. I'm sure you're spot on though. There's no way I'm reading through 10 pages of any 2012 thread. 2012 will come and go just like any other day and year.

Nat Geo is full of 2012 listings, My brother just called me and said he watched something last night about something hitting us. He said it would not matter how deep you go because Earth would be no more. He said they built a space ship to travel (I think he said 82yrs it would take to get there) to a place they were calling Earth2. So there must be A LOT more ways the world is to end or change in 2012 than I knew about. Tonight Nat Geo has 2012 shows listed all evening..

if people think this gets no coverage, watch the history channel. I can't wait for this date to come already because I can't stand any more of their non stop 2012 shows. They have completely ruined the whole network for me.

I used to love the history channel, but it's gone way down hill. There is no more history to be found, it's all doom porn, ancient aliens, Nostradamus, pawn shows, ice road truckers, log men, and big foot. When they do show history it's hitler...and his secret UFOs!

If you want 2012 dooms day coverage, history channel will satisfy you until you can't see straight anymore.

I don't know. "Mankind" is pretty good (as these things go) and definitely about 100 times more interesting than 12/21/2012.

Nat Geo was doom porn all evening yesterday...from something like 6:00 or 7:00 pm till near midnight...then they replayed them!

I watched the "evacuate earth" one cause I thought it might be neat to see what they thought. The "doom" in that one was an approaching neutron star that got flung out when it went super nova. It took it 40 years to get here from the time they first detected it... (clue there for the Nibiru fans).

It was entertaining in a simple kinda way...that's about all I can say...
