Personally this is frustrating because I believe in the most local control and democratic path possible; yet city councils have proven their unworthiness time and time again. This being a prime example.

City wide campaigns that are focused and serve the wider public? Fairly okay with...
City wide [insert cause] day? Not so much.

LA County is not on solid ground fiscally yet they seem to have found time for this nonsense.

No argument for me.

They should have a no HFCS, white flour, white sugar, white rice Monday instead

Or. if you cannot pronounce the ingredients list. you don't eat it Monday...

Two months out of the year it has worked on "Christians" during Lent.

Don't get me started on Muslims and their Ramadan.

How about no GMO weekends? Okay I think none any time would be better but at least it would be a start. We could also call it incomplete labeling weekends.

There is nothing in the Bible (New Testament) that demands we eat a certain food on any day of the week. There is also nothing in the Bible (New Testament) that requires we give up anything durring Lent. Those are religious beliefs put in place by man.

That's my point.

All they have to do is claim "God said" and 50% will go for it without question. God said "no meat on Mondays". Sounds like it could be religious law in a few years to me.

Remember that billions of Muslims don't even eat during the day for a whole month just because "God Said So".
