My solar power system charge controller was made totally in the US. Yes, it was expensive. And when I call for suppport, I talk to one of the guys that made the thing, and speak english as a first language.

At work I switched us last year to a new software vendor. Best decision I even made. When I call support, I talk to a guy in Austin. Our previous software outsourced their support to india. That's one of the reasons I dropped them. Support went into the toilet.

I cannot believe how shocked I was to see this post!

I was interested in the question because not all items are constantly on my wish list, of things I need or that interest me every day!

I am certainly trying to pay attention, after buying a few new blouses, which didn't wash well (actually fell apart) only to flip the tag over and see, that as inexpensive as they were, they should have been dry cleaned.... a supposed cotton blouse?

Yes, time to pay more attention!

Likely you got suckered and are still angry about the topic!

Nothing. China makes it and America consumes it.

Wait - Hollywood and Disney

Ain't all bad. Though the actors seem to be Australian lately.

You know why there are so many Australian actors? Because they don't demand $20million a movie after they get famous. They are happy to get the work.

My tatoo artist was made in China, my hooker was made in China, and my beer was made in Mexico.

But my Japanese car was made in the US.

We still make most of the passenger aircraft and tractors.

We used to make the best industrial controls and the ultimate top of the line instrumentation, but for the last decade and a half, the Europeans have been kIcking our butts.

Ah, but the tech is still developed here, and the rad designs and software. European and top Asian companies making the tech here in the US.

In case you wanted to know.

the only thing that gets 'made' in america is the tired old 'we're the best' attitude, and its getting very old!
no one in the world cares if it is american made, that is why walmart is doing so well!
your own people have proven that! why can't you make a product thats good for people, and that is affordable, instead of thinking about getting rich? no matter what you do,the chinese will make it at half price!
i'm sure most of your belongings were made in another country,so being patriotic, why don't you dispose of them?
buy american! (i'm canadian, and the same attitude is here!) buy a good american computer so you can rant on ats - oh wait, america doesn't make computers!how aboout an american car? oh wait, they get all their parts from chinese/japanese manufacturers! don't buy an american car that was made on a monday,or a friday, cause monday is hang over day,and friday is party day! your car will be a lemon!
when people start giving a damn about the qualitty of work they perform in america, instead of their paycheck, maybe people will start buying american products!
your own food you buy is not even locally grown!
i guess thats OUR problem(remember,i'm canadian) cheap is better, cause i save money,or i can't afford 'the good/real' thing. 99% of the things you buy daily, from gas to food, was produced in another country. get use to it!
where is the american cell phone companies? tv's?clothes?

I believe it's illegal to import any items that have been manufactured by slaves or prisoners
Where as the the US has all but re-invented the slave labour trade.........it's the only way production can compete with china, Mexico ect

When 5% of the earths population ( the US ) accounts for 25% of the earths prison population, combined with this information of prison manufacturing ........should get you thinking

I still manufacture, but its like a WAR out here. No nice guys in the manufacturing business, or you can kiss your job good bye. We keep our factory locked down, No one gets in or out without a pass. You have to these days, or China and other competitors will find a way to get Company Secrets.

Well arms. All the arms the US exports, I think they are made in America. Its big buisness. The Germans and the like prefer to be known for their nice cars, but they are big into the arms industry as well.

I try to spend the extra two bucks on the pencils that are made in Tennessee, I think.

It isn't much but I like to this k that maybe on Guy or gal gets to keep his/ her job for one more day because I preach about buying pencils made in America.

I try to buy tools made here in the states. That is getting a little more difficult though.

It us notuch but I do look at the label when I purchase something.

Screw China, Taiwan, Indonesia, and any other foreign job stealing country.

I quit buying Levis as soon as they moved abroad. That old Guy would be rolling in his grave.

Your brilliant deny ignorance post seem to go relatively unnoticed...personally I found the scope of goods made by prisoners was astounding.
Mmm I wonder if the percentage of Chinese in the population of prisons has recently risen

Perhaps the only way to get any work is to go to jail.
Your post should have a thread of its own.

You shine my shoes. I'll shine yours. That is our economy.

Actually it's more like: Have the government pay for you to shine my shoes. Then I'll have the government pay me to shine yours.

This is a formula for some rapid economic growth. Anybody could see that.
