The majority of people on this planet don't even treat themselves the way they would like to be treated, so how would they know how to treat others? The so called Golden rule can only be correctly applied, when you have a deep understanding of yourself.

That's why I called it the so-called 'golden rule', because it is so called. And what you're referring to is the yoga of self acceptance, which is not necessarily the same as self knowing. You can be ignorant and accept yourself, but you can not be be ignorant and know yourself.

And to anyone who might say: " to know yourself IS to know that you are ignorant" I would say that the statement itself is something that you believe to know.

BUT it fails miserably if applied in exchanges with people from other cultures, other backgrounds, or even just other social classes. Values are different- what YOU would like to recieve is not necessarily what the OTHER would like to recieve!

The golden rule which really is not so golden or even shiny has little to do with all that but it does cross all boundaries, and what you are talking about is merely communication and relationship problems all of which can be overcome by making your communication more clear and understanding each-other, it is a process and no silly rule anywhere is going to change that fact.

But moving on to the golden rule "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Alas that rule only really works for those who follow it, if they do not, then the whole thing falls apart and becomes meaningless, in an ideal world it would not be an ideal thing to do, but in this world it is but an idea on an ideal world.

Usually I have found that if your faced with somebody who in now way is following such decent protocols, or worse seems to like taking advantage of it all. Well then do as Jesus did and if you get slapped offer the other cheek, but if you get slapped again calmly get to the bottom of it, but if it persists a third time then proceed to rip there arm off and beat them to a wet pulp with it.

The correct question is: "Is it possible to Perceive without Perception?" The answer is Yes but then, HOW?

You been licking yourself lately and getting a dose of your own medicine. The answer is No you can not perceive without perception, that is what it is. A take on it, a glimpse on a part of an overall higher and broader thing, when you are an ant you know and see the whole sum of the world you would know through an ants eye, when you are a toad you see and know the whole sum of the world through a toads eye, and when you are a human the same applies. Now its all perception and perceiving, and seeing is seeing the images of your perceptions, and all of that is limited to your particular and peculiar viewpoints. All of existence looks at its own existence through there own particular rose tinted glasses, as such they are all perceiving there perceptions of what they are capable of understanding and receiving. An ant will not all of a sudden learn to speck English and a toad wont all of a sudden learn to do calculus, to both of them those concepts do not even register, and like them a human is not able to perceive without perception, and the more perceptions he or she has on something the broader a picture he or she will see, but even that to is merely overall perceptions.

Now your toady wisdom is pretty wise like and toadfull, but remember the golden rule. KMS keep mouth shut, because frankly silence is golden and gold, well gold is just another metal, sure its shiny and all that. But in a broader reality well really only those who are impressed with shiny objects would take it to be anything other then just another rule made by human kinds perceptions on things, and as such it has its flaws and misconceptions.

The golden rule sounds good but it has flaws. Deceivers and cons expect that others like them will try to decieve or con them and are always aware to be on guard. They enjoy catching others trying to do things to them because it makes them feel smarter. There is also a respect amongst thieves to consider.

I try to treat others as I would want them to treat me but know that half the people in this country would screw you if they could. Many are people that are well off but they screw you by legal means that have been created by society.
