I am willing to bet that it is a combination to two things (based on my past experience with ATS contests):
- some users post more. people actually click the links from time to time, and if you set your link up to be the "add star" version of the URL, it
will (at least in the past) star the post you link to. Dirty trick? Maybe....i didn't care to win (as what i made isn't as good as others in my
opinion) so didn't market my creations in any way at all.
- You can U2U people and ask them for support. I wasn't even aware of the writing contests until I got a U2U from a friend asking me to read his
story, and star if i like. Of course, i loved it and would have star'd it a million times. But if you want to garner support for something, you have
to bring it to peoples attention.
ETA: looking at your overall post count, i would hazard a guess that, other than people who come by this thread already, very few are aware of what
you made, and what you are doing. Take a few minutes and U2U folks you are friendly with and pimp your product.
I bet you will drive a few more
votes (and it will likely level the playing field).
As well, keep in mind....animations are going to get votes.
