]Avatar Creations will have an avatar logo contest. Work will either be titled "Avatar Creations" for the thread it links to or "Avatar Tool Shed" (for ATS).

The contest is not limited to computer graphics. Members can draw, paint, scratchboard, sculpt, or any other medium they choose to use and then submit a photo of their entry (the Avatar Creations members in the thread can clean them up, crop or resize for those that do not know how). Signature images may be animated.
One avatar entry per post, please.

File sizes are not to exceed 25k.

GIF and JPEF file formats for any image with a maximum dimension of 500 pixels wide by 50 pixels tall. The reason for this is it still leaves a line in the signature for personal use of the person using the logo. A "click here" icon will be added by Agarta.

All Terms and Conditions apply to all artwork.

The first-place winning image will become "Avatar Creations" logo and the winner earns the right to choose the next topic...for a contest to be held early in 2013.

There will be three winners chosen, based solely on the number of stars their avatar receives from your fellow members.
First prize will be three applauses and second, two and third, one applause.

The contest runs until midnight, November 28 and the voting continues until November 30. Winners announced December 1.

Entries and voting will be in this thread.

In the past, we've limited it to three entries, but there will be no limit on the number of entries in this contest

If anyone would like more details or if you need a "jump start" for your creative juices, this is where the discussion began for the contest and the idea came to life!

In order to make entries straight forward and easy to discern, please use the headline feature when making your entry. That will set it apart. It's like this without the spaces [ headline] Logo Entry [ / headline] and when used without the spaces, looks like this:

I have bookmarked this thread, is this where the submissions will be?? Am a bit confused. Will they be on the other thread for avatar creations?

Yes, entries will be made here. Discussion can take place on the other thread, leaving this thread less cluttered for people to view the entries and cast their votes

Logo Entry

I'll be "brave" and make the first entry. I tried to show how the ideas go from a very rough stage to the final product with a cool little lettering effect with the title of the thread in between them.

ETA: Granted, this was a quick effort as to "break the ice" of the "first entry jitters". Others can feel free to use the concept and build on it with more intricate artwork if they like or take a completely different route! The contest is wide-open (within T&C

I just want to get the proverbial ball rolling

....it matches up with my current avatar...which is subject to change at whim
