Quote The AN/WLD RMS will allow combatatants to react fast and indepentently to mine threats without impacting other missions. Launched and controled remotley by forward deployed ships RMS will give carrier and expeditionary strike groups an independent real time over the horizon mine reconnaisance capability. Significantly enhancing ship and crew safety, the RMV tows a variable depth sensor to detect, localize, classify and identify, moored mines and bottom mines. Other key elements of the system include line-of-sight and over the horizon real time data links, a shipboard launch and recovery subsystem, and a software segment, which intergrates AN/WLD-1 into the system. I think the system is good and it can possibly speed up harbour mine clearance. What do you guys think?
