Australia supplies a lot of meat to the US. And a significant amount to the McDonalds corp I think. Particularly around the mad cow scare event.

Keep eating our meat please Americans, particularly lamb. Thanks. Also keep drinking Australian Wine if you think it's cool to pour French wine out. Thanks.

ahh, i see edsinger is once again spreading the halls of ATS with conservative hate.

95% of the world don't hate americans. They don't hate america. Deal with it. People don't walk around thinking about America and how much they hate America everyday, hell most of us don't give a crap about america because we are too concerned with our own lives. You don't really give much thought about the rest of the world everyday because you too are concerned with your own lives.

98% of the time i am not giving a single thought about america. The only time I usually ever think about America is when i turn on the news or when i am on this very forum.

A lot of people hate American foreign policy and the American govt. What's wrong with that?

America needs the world to keep buying their goods. We need America to keep coming up with new ideas and to propel us forward.

Let's just stop this "The World Hates US" BS and this nationalist BS and let's just think ONE WORLD ONE PEOPLE because that's how it really is and not this nationalist rubbish we've been led to believe all our lives.

thanks,
drfunk

China will stop aggression towards Taiwan and be the first nation to recognize Taiwan's independence.

I love how you freaks eat up your own propaganda. I've seen many times on this site the belief that China is some great evil.
Most of the stuff on your shop shelves comes from China, from offshore American interests. Mmmm...some of the US public is scared of China, yet many big corporations just love doing trade with them, from Big Macs to Humvees and Harleys. China seems to be becoming more modern every day where as some of the viewpoints coming from the States would seem to indicate the US is going backwards. Do you belive everything you see on TV or what your esteemed leader tells you?
History is full of civilisations that turn to their war machine for some luvin when economic times get hard or when economic competitors turn up over the horizon, and some wonder if this is indeed corporate Americas driving concern at the moment.
To that dikhead that posted earlier, with his Mexican bashing....you better get used to it, the Spanish speaking peoples are the future of the USA...ha ha.
Edslinger, you mentioned one thing that whilst tongue in cheek is probably the best way to mend your fences.....Stop favoring Israel, and help Palestine get on it's feet.....maybe in your propagandised FOXNEWS world you haven't noticed, but Israel is treating the Palestinians in the same manner that the Nazis treated the Jewish peoples in the 1930's...maybe it's true that the bullied themselves become the bullies. But maybe the fact that right-wing republican Amerika itself has fascist tendancies, has blinded you to the obvious.
Oh yeah you can take your ARA sponsored cigar smoking good guy kills more people than the badguy movies and shove them up your a$$...we'll keep the best movies tho...maybe you don't watch them anyway, you know the ones....the ones that make you think.
Oh one last thing....why are you whinging about 'anti-Americanism"? It's a bit two-faced don't you think? You diks seemed all to willing to bandy about your anti-French and anti-German rhetoric when you couldn't get everything your own way.

Here is a solution... hang Dr.Evil (thats spelled KISSINGER in american) by his privates from either the washington monument or the UN building in NYC... The UN would be preferable as it will be a clear signal to the world that you are really serious about changing your ways.

Also renounce this protectionist keynesian economy of ours and we might have less corporate say in what poor people need to be slaughtered for profit next.

US should never withdraw from any of those places because they are the guardians of democracy.
Europe, South Korea, Russia, Balkans, and where else not, all this places now have democracy and freedom thanks to US help. All those children in those countries now have the opportunity to do whatever they like in life.
Just like Iraq, it could stand on its feet and step on the road to become a great free country in 5-10 years.

Few of you seem to appreciate your freedom, your living standards so...I suggest you go and visit Cuba or Iran to see what I mean.
Do you really want entire world to become a third world craphole without US? Many dictators would arise, and many wars would be fought if there wasn't for fear of US interventions. Europe would be hardly willing to help with anything and world would soon experience another world war.
That's why US is great country. And I say that yet I'm not even an USsian

The beginning of the NEW world is the beginning of the THIRD world!

The US is the direct result and the epitome of the NEW world..

Therefore the US is part of the creation of the THIRD world, and is actively engaged in maintaining and exploiting it.

us has nothing to do freedom and democracy...its way of government isnt really democratic (you vote someone who votes again someone)..and everything is ruled by money and old dynasty familias like bush, kennedys etc..and it really have nothing to do with european democracy if usa still holds an army foothold on central europe. It was only because cold war and situation at germany...but one can believe what he wants..it isnt the first time that people seem to be blind to the facts and believe all kind of nationalistic bullsh*t..

So the whole point of your post was to say do not elect John Kerry although he will do a better job. You are using neuro libguistics in reverse ed LOL.

Let me give you another fantasy scenario:

Give Saudi Arabia an ultimatum - no one in your country or anyone you aid will fund terrorists any longer. One strike you are out and we will air strike your mosques at mecca and medina where all jihad commands flow and wipe out Islam from history by bombing you into oblivion.

Eliminate oil entirely and use only hydrogen the most abundant element in the universe. We will never run out and there is no pollution and muslim extremeists cannot profit from large TEXAS oil companies.

Hold a criminal investigation into Saudi oil funding that has promoted terrorism worldwide. Being an ex president does not allow exemption. All those found guilty of profiting from jihadists investments will be executed as directed by congress.

New patriot act. Stop the spread of muslim extremists. If you are not American and seek to enter our country you must complete a full exam to determine whether you are Muslim. Ever see blade runner? If you are a foreign muslim you now have police escorts that take you everywhere you want to go at YOUR expense (and it will be expensive - you better tip). You also will not be able to conduct ANY business investments such as real estate purchasing, buying stock, or access dollar amounts over $3,000.00.

Starting today China is no longer allowed to export goods to America for seven years. When the seven years are up and China again begs for business they must import three times as many goods as we import from them.

Russia will be required to make an account of all nuclear devices or risk invasion by the EU and the U.S. Union teams will be involved in accounting for all devices worldwide. The EU and the U.S. in return will rebuild the failed soviet economy we destroyed.

All nuclear devices and WMD are eliminated. Any country that does not comply with quotas including the U.S. will have their president or PM executed and a new administration put in place.

The U.S. government will not be allowed to tax citizens over 10% across the board. State tax will be determined by adults who have lived in the state for at least seven years.

If you make over $500,000 a year you are required by law to teach classes for free on enterprise in your skill and will be required to hire the students who select your class.

TV commercial advertising for presidential candidates is no longer allowed. Instead the Presidential candidate's will be put on tv for the entire election year three times a week and must answer questions from the audience who come in OFF THE STREET.

The CIA will be shut down and past directors will be investigated for criminal misconduct. NSA will no longer be a secret city and will be accountable for their actions. The FBI will have a new director every three years. Any police officer or Special agent found guilty of criminal activity will be executed.

After reading.......

First, This is maybe the gazillion time this has been said but Ill say it again:

PEOPLE DONT HATE US CITIZENS, THEY HATE THE CURRENT GOVERMENT, SPECIALLY GWB.

(Zoomer) If you are so mad about the Mexican Invasion and that they exploit the law loopholes (they may not be as stupid as you think), dont blame it on Mexico, dont blame it on third world countries, better make a copy of your post and send it to your congressman ar to the president and see what happens (short answer: NADA). The Us Profits from most third world countries, by buying cheap labor, manefacture and goods (why do you think most auto companies have plants south of your border). Anyways you can go to the border and start constructing a wall maybe thousands will help you, but that is not the solution.

Havent eaten in MacDonals for over a Decade and I have one 2 miles away from home...so that doesnt apply to me.

China is of the biggest interest to the US since China is the biggest potential market in the 21 century (as India is too), so thats why th eus has been so lame in enforcing human rights there, see? its convenient to the US that situation, what would happen if those shack ridden third world countries had to pay 5.5 USD an hour in wages? (hint: Nikes costing 200 to 250 a pair!)
My point (again) there is no such thing as a free lunch !!! the US has choosen to be the world police because it fits its interests, what will happen when the world doesnt want to be "policed?"......we will see in the next few years...

Just like I can't jump like Jordan, not all countries are "A" listers. Take Canada for example. if all of a sudden it was gone besides a dearth of beer and table dancers who would notice?

We may not have your military might, but some of us have done pretty well at dealing with crises before. The world will not fall apart because the US chooses to focus on itself - and I'm not passing judgment on that - we'll just reorganize things around other groupings like the EU or the Commonwealth to fill in the void.

Quick question, Can you read? Go back and look at the post again and read my one response to this question posed at the start.

I guess not, just puke out Edsinger spreads hate!

What about the crap the liberals spread? Huh? That is just the same if not worse, at least conservatives value a human life.

It just makes me sick to see the obvious ignornace of automatically flaming someone.

I most certainly will not. I do not see the Israeli's blowing their teenagers up just for the sake of killing Jews. The Palestinians had their chance more than once, they lied in the OSLO accords. See you side see's it as Jewish agression, I do not. If the Jewish people wanted to be agressive, there would be no Palestinians in Judea and you know it. The PLO has been asked many times to stop the terror, and yet they keep it up. Why? If you feel the PLO's position is right, then well over hlaf of America must be wrong also. People seem to love to hate the Jews, and yet in every major war it was the arabs that attacked Isreal from day 1. Take a look at the facts, if I was Isreal I would be tearing down houses to everytime a rocket is launched into a supermarket. Its Terror, and the Palastinians also had a chance to have their own state, with Bush's plan if they get rid of the terror master Arafat, yet they refuse..

Lies at Oslo, and the Isrealis gave them almost everything and they still lied and just look a what Arafat said about lying to your enemy.

Yes, let's pull out of the Mid-East, and everywhere else where we (U.S.) is seen as an invader. I would like us to stop cuddling up to the Israeli gov't and treat it more like the spoiled brat it is. If another nation actually WANTS our help, then let's go to it. The problem is I have not seen too many instances where our help was asked for, and then we hadn't pulled it off properly. The current war in Iraq is a tactical and strategic F-job. We run around the world pointing fingers and trying to "fix" things and more messes start. All the while our country and it's people are spiralling around the edge of the toilet bowl. That is unless yer rich. And then everything's alright. Right?

The world on the other hand is poor as dirt compared to America. Europe would be good for a bit but the South East Asian economic boom would stop dead meanwhile Africa and the Middle East would as usual be the worst places on the Earth.

us economy would suffer, at first, then eventually start to pick up again because America would also not be getting the usual imports we do and our money would stay in the US with domestic companies. the dollar would begin to gain power again and cause deflation to a degree. things would become important again.

i am a bit of a conservative, but i am for a time period of isolationism after we finish the fights we started around the globe. we need to rest a while and collect ourselves. re-stabilize our own government and domestic responsibilities- power-grid, money, taxation, government power- needs a little redistributing, etc.

what if our leaders collectivaly say "@#$% it"? what if the problems we face are too overwhelming to be solved with a simply economic reform?

im afraid they will go about getting what they want with what has been working for the last couple decades, cold brute force.

Total isolationism may be possible for the United States i think. There would be growing pains. The world is much different than 75 years ago where compared to today we were much more isolationist. Now we have this global economy.

The US would suffer through a depresion for a few years and many companies would go under. After a while we'ed pull out of it because we would no longer be handing money out by the billions to other countries. The money would stay here. We would have all our military here to guard our borders and that would stop most or all illegal immigration keeping more money in our country while stopping Mexicos' major source of income.

We have plenty of land to grow our own food. Plenty of cattle and other livestock. We've got enough coal and natural gas to last at least another hundred years. We could pull ourselves out of our dependency on OPEC if we started using other forms of energy.

On the plus side it would stop other countries from saying we should mind our own business. It would stop terrorism for the most part because we wouldn't be bothering anyone. Everything would be made in America and all the cheap quality crap on the market like those tools from China that Wall Mart sells that break when you use them once would be a thing of the past.

Of course if we were asked for help due to a major earthquake in another country or something like that, we would respond with a big screw you!

If South Korea or Israel or maybe Japan were blown away or any other place that wasn't a part of the US for that matter, oh well! That wouldn't be our problem.

I agree with all except #6. We shouldn't have troops in other countries anyway, IMO. If hell breaks loose, I really don't care. Maybe they should learn to live together. If they can't, maybe they should kill each other. When they come here, go ahead and defend the US. Otherwise, we have no business there. That's what got us attacked on our own soil. When will we learn? We can still have allies and trade with other countries without having military presence all over the world.

Nope.

I said Isolationism may be possible. That of course would mean looking out for number one.

I never said I agree with it. I said IMO what would have to be done to achieve it. You can't remain an Isolationist country and worry about what allies might think. You can't pour out your heart, soul, and money to help other countries through rough times. That's not your problem anymore.

Yes we can but change is slow on a global scale. Through NATO our troops are all over the world to combat the Warsaw Pact nations. Also Clinton did a very good job of spreading the American military around the world with all of those low risk peace keeping operations. The American presence in many foreign countries has been there for over 50 years.
