A man once told me
With a noble confession
Be wise in the dealings
With material possessions

His sound and demeanor
It came straight from the heart
"Take heed to my words" he said
"For this thought, do not let it part"

Do you think it is wise
To adore tangible things?
You think it makes you happy?
All the diamonds, gems, and rings?

You admire your home
Pay people to rub your feet
And walk by carelessly, grinning
At those looking for a bite to eat

Remember my friend
That we are all brothers
Do not look around
As if there are "others"

Be humble and steadfast
Help those that are in need
For God knows all
And always sees a good deed

Know that you can live
Without the lavish lifestyle
For the ones that adore it
Tend to have a heart that is vile

They seek and destroy
Just looking for pay
Only caring abouth themselves
Stabbing people along the way

There is no honor
In the life they are living
But there is hope my dear friend
For the revenge will be giving

One day indeed
They will see they're unjust
When those around them too
Have hearts of utter rust

On the deathbed they will see
Whom they have by their side
That there is nobody there
On the day that they die

So I tell you my friend
Remain in Gods glory
And remember this phrase
That of "Memento Mori"

Thank you. I'm new to the poetry thing. I actually enjoy it though.
