I was waiting for some huge rant to show up on ATS about the election. Sorry your favorite candidate didn't win!

Edit: On topic, if you cut "entitlement" programs you would not only be starving tens of millions of people but it would make a very very small dent in our deficit. The real problem is DEFENSE SPENDING. You could literally get rid of all courts, social programs (water, trash, electricity and all other inner city government workers) and you would still be left with trillions in deficit all because of DEFENSE SPENDING.

The only real solution to this problem is to spend more money on creating jobs and cut DEFENSE SPENDING by 50%+. Four years is not enough to fix what Bush and Dick did to this economy, try four decades.

I think government schools have done more to destroy this gold nugget. I wonder how many people think the Constitution enumerates the rights of the people when, in fact, the Constitution enumerates the limitations of government in regards to the rights of the people. And how many think the government should lend a “helping hand” when truth be told that extended hand is the same one that will hold you down.

I'm sick of all the "You Lost! Get over it!" type comments. As if this is some silly game. This isn't a Republican loss. This is an American loss. This isn't a Democrat win. This is a win for foreign nations.

And what is it with Libral mantras? Hope and Change. Forward not Backwards. Where is any substance that shows a benefit to the nation and the people? For America, Forward is falling into a canyon.

The op is spot on with what the voters chose this election. Their vote is either support for or agreement with the idea of increased debt, taxes, larger government and less freedom. This fact should blow the minds of anyone calling themselves American.

I didn't support either candidate because they both were playing the same old games.
Romney couldn't attack Obama on transparency because he knew he would have to answer to his own skeletons.

Romney couldn't attack Obama on abortion because he has spent most of his life a supporter of murdering babies.

Romney couldn't attack Obama on healthcare because his health care plan is a small scale model of what was passed.

Romney couldn't attack Obama on religion because his own religion is controversial.

Romney never defended his jobs record when attacked so his attacks on Obama looked like a joke.

Who failed you ask? not the republicans, not the democrats, and not the politicians Americans Failed.

Americans failed to see the game being played by both parties for years now.

Americans failed to vote their minds, but voted for whom they were told too. You voted for Obama because you were told to and the atmosphere created served to polarized you to either or.

You voted for Romney because you were told too and because you were told to and the atmosphere created served to polarized you to either or.

Not one person can honestly say they understand the strategy or approach either candidate wanted to direct America with. Not one person here knows who their candidate was, but know a persona created by media and politicians to portray their candidate as the best choice.

Both repubs and democrats won because Americans guaranteed they will always vote for a Dem or re-pub.

Wake up america learn from our mistakes and kick these guys Repubs and Dems out of our government.

Zero? Your half correct. The defense budget is one financial HOLE.

For the record, the State Of Nevada recieves a THIRD of their revenue from military bases, and the other THIRD with what's left over from siphoned off casino revenue. (Casino Revenue Theft In Nevada Is Another topic. Think about it. ALL THAT CASH MOVES Though VEGAS?)

The other THIRD is what Harry Reid siphons off from federal subsidies.

And yet, Nevada is last in education and employment.

And yet? Drive through Nevada and look at all the new roads going through Nevada they're building. Roads with little "cowboy" shadows are everywhere.
Harry got them federal employees those contracts.
And the employment record is still that weak in Nevada.

This IS like WW2 with soldiers coming home. But we already spent our dough. Now? We MUST bring the boys home and retrain them back into our culture without violence.
There's a LOT of pissed off Vets out there. And I hurt for them.
Where do we put them?
Easier to keep them trained soldiers off shore. Safer too. Find another mission. We ain't got no jobs for them.
To say bring them home without jobs the government is unqualified to offer is a design for disaster.

Get a better game plan.

It's a mess.

Is it a coincidence the wealthiest 1% of the country increased their net earnings just by changing the tax codes - increased their wealth 700% over the course of 20 years???

Is it any coincidence the cost of living went up every year in those 20 years but the wages paid to workers stayed the same? You are blaming this on COMMUNISM? And you are laying it at Obamas door?

why is it socialism to use your taxes to pay for your surgery socialism and using taxes to pay for a senators not.

why is it socialism to build a hospital but to build a cruise missile not.

you're taxes are being collected. what they are being used for or who benefits has nothing to do with socialism, communism or any other ism you can think of.

The educated people have spoken.
There are those who can't be convinced this is the right path for the country and they have a severe lack of formal education, zero economics and a biased and skewed version of history in common. None of them voted Obama. I work with some hard core southerners who literally cling to their guns and fit all the stereotypes you can come up with. It is awfully solemn around the old homestead. The schools they went to wouldn't pass for schools in NY. The restaurants they operate can't hold a candle to those we have in NY. They are kind of BACKWARDS and SLOW compared to New Yorkers who are as I recall generally liberal progressive and democratic. I had to stop myself from calling one of the chicks STUPID this evening in fact because she came out with stuff like this. Are you all listening to the same websight or something?

You can look at the debt and think to yourself "Is this much debt safe".Everyone knows this is way way way to much debt and it is exactly how the euro is messed all up.

Nobody was warning about this kind of economy stuff before the 2008 collapse that was told by Bush and Obama as the 2nd great depression before they did the bailouts.So people are not fear mongering when they warn about what is very very dangerous bad economy.

Just what will be the tipping point with all of this and when will it get far worse.
