I'm all for civility. That's always preferable, but I'm also starting to think a great big honking civil war where about half the people in this country die might be desirable too. But I try not to think about because it's bad for my karma.

THE GOP SHOULD NOT EXIST ANY LONGER

This is 2012 for chrissakes. It's an EMBARRASSMENT that a party like the GOP (and most of the right-wing) has somehow latched on like a leech to society, draining it for so long.

It's time we say a real goodbye to the GOP and any reinvention/reemergence of it, FOREVER.

The future awaits, and the right-wing offers almost nothing for humanity and the planet going forward.

The Democratic Party should be abandoned too, in time, but first the greater evil.

Now or never, people. Let em burn. The right-wing was fueling off of blind pride and ignored nobility, science, reason, facts, compassion, questioning of authority, and the people's causes.

Time for society to break up with them, then the Democrats. Then we move onto more "radical" third parties. The Green Party should be MUCH BIGGER than it is. Instead its members are locked out of debates and arrested. What a disgusting excuse for Democracy we have. You want something closer to Democracy? Look at Social-Democracies like Germany, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Canada, etc. They have their # together. But eventually, the whole world will have to stop taking part in the big charade that is civilization.

Excellent post. However, it still sounds condescending. How could it not? That is all the language we've learned to use in a dualistic society. Either you're right or you're wrong, and it is your obligation as a right person to convert the wrong person. These are our choices.

It is easy to stand on the dry shore and instruct those who are drowning how to swim better.

What is not so easy is to see all the ways you are wrong so you will be in a position to join all your wrong comrades and then you are all the same, wrong, trying to make right together from the same starting point.

How willing are you now to admit that everything you have tried until now has been wrong (since it is not working)?

I hope what this generation of America is remembered for is how we learned to embrace and accept both what is wrong and right about our thinking, without blame, in the ultimate interest to make things better, but we always knew we'd never get perfect at it.

The only reason the universe exists is because there was a flaw. The entire universe is the result of a disymmetry that is forever trying to to correct itself. This is the dance we are in. About the best we can do is learn not to step on each other's feet so much. And when we do, laugh.

No but they do need to grow the # up and stop spewing lies about Obamacare. It's funny how NONE of the small businesses that are complaining about it have done their research. Under 200 employees? You need to READ and not threaten to cut jobs, raise prices or move out of the country.

And while they're at it, DROP the #ing socialist meme because it's as rotten as week-old fromunda cheese.

Once conservatives do this, a constructive dialogue can take place between both sides.

You do what you want but don't be shocked if someone calls out your ignorance.

Yep, grow up, embrace the socialist change and just talk ti out with liberal progressives.

No thanks again.
Another spoonful liberal crap is not welcome.

I agree. There is nothing about the Obama Administration that is "socialist" at all. They are what they are: Corporate Fascists. Everyone in that administration is a practicing member of the Corporatism club.

I have come to see that Liberals and Conservatives are the way they are probably not for reasons of thought but for reasons of attitude. It's almost like two different personality types. So in a sense when you are trying to bridge the gap (from either direction), its impossible to do rationally...its more of a psychological condition, like two people with radically different brain-structures. You run into the same problems you do with the "war of the sexes": Notice how neither males or females can ever agree on some things no matter how hard they try...

I think the political divide has been cleverly exploited by psychologically aware psychopaths so that they have created two parties that cater to radically different personality types. Not only do they cater to these types; in a sense they create and imprison people within these mutually exclusive mental paradigms.

Right you are Xoor. The "common man" took little note of the emergence of psychological science but those who had the inclination to control the world, did. And the rest as they say is history. Except it isn't. They have covered their tracks very nicely.
