You said it... a Loving God. All of God's rules are based on... you guessed it... Love. God does not just love, God Is Love.

If your problem is that you don't want to follow a God- whose primary motivation is Love... Then God cannot let you into his heaven. This in effect is not God choosing to reject anyone... but it's their own free will to reject Him. Yes, God loves everybody. But if they don't love Him... that's a problem.

Put is this way: If God, who Is loving, let everyone into heaven... then heavenly society would be just like earth- just with God in it. Probably not what you had in mind.

As I mentioned, God's primary motivation is Love. A lot of people get their strict parents in their heads when they think of God... and attribute/equate their parent's strictness with God. Bad mistake. Rules and strict obedience for apparently for the rule's sake is all religion... and God hates rules. In fact, it was the religious priests who instigated the crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus was, and is, all about love.
