All this neener neener coming from someone who calls him/herself "pyramid head."

I did go to "regular" college and even teach "regular" college. I still don't understand how you expect to get anybody to take you seriously when you are so obviously coming from bitterness and Big Hurting.

Try on what you would hope liberals would say to you if Obama lost in such a demonstrative way: "I am so hurt and vulnerable right now and I hate feeling this way. Everybody is being horrible about this and I invested a lot of my feelings in this election turning out a different way. I feel hatred but don't know who is in charge of this huge mistake and the world looks real scary and bleak right now."

While I teach critical thinking skills in my classroom (e.g. blasphemies such as "thinking for yourself" and "don't automatically believe everything you hear or read") I also strive to teach empathy at the same time. Part of life is being wrong. It should be. If we are going to experience our humanity in a real way, we have to experience being wrong sometimes. Learning how to be wrong in a way that is constructive and consensus-building is the best kind of being wrong ever, and those who engage in this will always be remembered as the people who made progress possible. They evolve into the leaders who can take a punch from the world because being wrong is not the worst thing that ever happened to them.

Try it on. Just go, "WOW I was so wrong." See the VALUE in that. If you can go ahead and experience being wrong, you will be a better teacher for anyone you encounter than if you keep insisting that you're right (and no one hears you).

If your refering to the election and simply because obama won, I'm wrong? That does not make very much sense. Just because half of the country wants to do away with the republic and vote themselves a raise on the backs of the taxpayer does not mean it is correct. Am I upset? Sure, its depressing to think half of the country is made up of idiots and leeches. Will I simply accept their point of view because there are more of them? Never. It sounds more like your teaching acceptance than empathy, the outcome of an election does not mean the principles I stand on change because socialists say so. Being taken "serious" is none of my concern, it is up to the person who is reading, and is ones opinion. It has no bearing on my words.

In my argument, maddow was being held as someone who is superior to her peers because of her "education", and her education being a PhD in Poly Sci. My argument is not from bitterness but realism. She has a pointless degree that her supporters say supports her "intellectual" dominance. I am simply challenging that assertion by saying a poly sci degree is no acomplishment and certainly not a sign of intelligence. It is the easy way out. One gets to say they have a PhD while putting in little to no work. It is the epitome of being lazy.

Its like being at a ski resort and saying you are an expert simply because you ski, meanwhile you stay at "bunny hill" with the children while other true experts go down the black diamonds. Simply being at a place for a certain period of time does make one intelligent.

Look, I don't like you, or your ideology, and you don't like me or mine. So why on Earth would we want to live together as neighbors?!

And cramming your ideology down my throat only make me dislike for you "progressives" even more.

I think it's about time we all go our seperate ways.... before people start getting hurt.

The U.S. military is heavily engaged abroad, so dealing with a secessionist crisis poses new challenges. The possibility of secession raises other equally unpleasant possibilities, such as the potential for splits in the military.

The petition above is a way of addressing the issue of national defense, a jab at Texas, and a way of protesting secessionists, if you are so inclined.

It's not a pretty place now, and never has been. I interned in a few hospitals many, many moons ago, including the VA. People die in hospitals now anyway, from stuff that's easily preventable and from medical staff that really don't care what happens to you. Especially the doctors.

Hospitals are supposed to be not-for-profit entities. At least, that's what UPMC is always claiming while they get hundreds of millions in tax breaks. We're about to find out who's in it for the love of their profession and who's in it for the money. There are plenty of kids coming out of school without a job. They'll fill the niche, and good riddance to those who don't really want to be there.

It will look more like a military hospital running around trying to take care of the most serious patients first and the others will be left on their own until the emergencies are taken care off. I hate to say this, but people will die because of this. Supplies will be limited due to cost, it will be difficult to watch.

Supplies will be limited to cost? Seriously? You don't really think it costs $20 for a Tylenol, do you? No, what will happen is that costs are going to have to come back into line with reality.

As for the other, if all these businesses want to shoot themselves in the foot, they can just go ahead. That's the great thing about our economic system--there will always be a place for someone to step up and compete with them.

Firing workers because the guy you didn't want got elected has to be one of them most un-American things I've ever heard of. Take your hissy fit somewhere else. There are plenty of people who WANT to start their own business, so get out of the way and let them.

All Obama did was enforce an edict that has been on the books since 2000, signed by Bush. Where was your fake outrage 12 years ago?

With the clear abuse of civil rights in the country and the flaming Muslim-hate and Islamophobia that the Democrats have been peddling, I don't think anyone can seriously say that the modern Democratic party is trying to peddle "Political Correctness" to the masses of the United States. Do you even know what Marxism is? Obama is not a Marxist, he's a Corporatist by the truest definition of the term. That "Marxism" label gets thrown around a lot more based on the writings of the First Lady, Michelle Obama, than anything that Obama has written. I don't get it. Do I think that Obama is bad for the country? Sure. Is he a Muslim Marxist? No, he wishes. He's a Rockefeller Republican, so come on, drop the Marxism crap.
