Well, there are the people who are under the age of 18, and if you add that to the people who decided not to vote... it looks about right.

I'm proud to have voted for Gary Johnson and am absolutely horrified that the American people have chosen to reelect Obama for another term... I fear we're all doomed

Call me crazy, but if you want a 3rd party President you are simply gonna have to get some Senators and Congressmen other than Ron Paul. No one is gonna take any 3rd Party Candidate seriously until that happens and they get good and prolific legislation passed you will just be grinding your gears. Want to be President someday? It is time to quit wasting money on Presidential elections you cannot win and work on State legislatures you can win.

You know I keep hearing this from my friends so I have to ask, why is it that everyone should do what they think is right except Libertarians? Everyone says we need a strong third party but those of us actually trying to do something about it are constantly told by one party or another we are responsible for ruining the country.

Ummm.....I guess I did my part in ruining the country.........I was at the polling booth getting set to write in Ron Paul, but something came over me in the last second and I voted for Gary Johnson instead. I guess it was because Gary stayed in the race, while Ron refused to go third party. It makes me want to hurl on Hefficides shoes because Odogma won re-election, but what the hell..........a preppers life for me, or dont ya want to be a prepper too........Drink Dr Prepper........not the kewl-aid...

Ron Paul wouldnt be capable of beating Obama's wife in a general election, let alone Obama himself. There's hope, and then there's realism. If Ron Paul couldnt get even remotely close to his own party's nomination, he stands no chance on the biggest stage.

Gary Johnson did not make Romney lose. Most people who voted for Johnson wouldn't have voted for Romney or Obama, so it really had no negative affect on either one.

Yeah your wrong in saying that Ron Paul wouldn't have done better. He would have wiped the floor with Obama during the debates and unified this country to where it should be, and in doing so he would have gotten the exposure he deserved that he didn't get in the primaries. He would have won in a landslide if our major news media outlets would have reported the news fairly instead of getting involved in the politics themselves. Anyone that doesn't see the powerful sway of media and how it affects this country is just ignorant.

Well then you're the perfect example of a foolish, misled know nothing. All the stupid GOP had to do was give Paul the VP ticket instead of Ryan, and Romney would have won. Yeah, I understand the differences of opinion of the two, but nevertheless Romney would have won.

So, To put the mental illness of clueless Obama supporters to the side, most anyone with a brain can agree that The Republicans are clueless. Even if they could not shed their hatred of Paul, they should have been smart enough to run a female or minority VP mate. It's not rocket science at all. The demographics have changed, and these idiots at the top of the GOP have their heads stuck so far up their butts that I really don't know what more there is to say about it other than = Stuck on stupid. ~$heopleNation

Gary Johnson + Ron Paul's influence doubled the support of the Libertarian party past the 1 MILLION mark.


He did this in an election where every vote counted, and the differences are clear in the swing states.

I'd love for you to explain how Ron Paul, a 77 year old, white evangelical Christian from Texas, can pull crowds of thousands of people of all colors and ages in a REPUBLICAN primary, in EXTREMELY LIBERAL universities like UCLA (7000+) and Berkeley (8500+) while Romney struggled to even hit 4 digit attendance numbers, it never happened.

To add salt to injury, all of Ron Paul's major rally attendances came AFTER Super Tuesday when the media was already declaring Romney the soon-to-be nominee. This is the part where people stop caring about the primaries but when Ron Paul's campaign announced his rally tours, the events sold out within days and almost every single event had to be moved from indoors to outdoor stadiums and park fields at the last minute because the demand was too overwhelming.


Seriously...let's just stop the nonsense.

Ron Paul @ UCLA 7000+ with hundreds more outside climbing fences and trees to get a peek of what was going on. Why were they outside? the Fire Marshalls locked the gates because the stadium was too packed.

I don't care for Romney, but Obama has usurped the Constitution and the rights of the States and people to the point that I could NOT vote for him or put my vote in any way that might even contribute to him remaining in office. I fully understand the need to vote your conscience, but can you really say that your conscience rests better knowing that Obama and all that he stands for (and against!) is once again in power to take away MORE of our rights and usurp MORE of the Constitution and the powers of checks and balances? I think Romney would have at least honored Congress by not scratching out an executive order every time his butt itches or ignoring the Contistution in its entirety for his own agenda at the level Obama has. Yes, I'm upset that Obama is re-elected and I'm upset that people thought it better to 'made a point' that went unheard than to sacrifice their egos for the future of our Country.
Men and women have died putting aside their personal beliefs for the rights that we as Americans have. They unselfishly gave of themselves for the better of the whole of the country rather than have their individual voice heard because they understood the necessity of protecting the liberties we shared (past tense!).
I was/am an avid Ron Paul fan. But to have Obama still in office is the last of any hope we ever had of America being the America we all know and love. The one percent vote AGAINST him COULD have eventually turned this country around, at least bought us some time to regroup and, as the people of the nation, regain control. It could have given us the chance to, at the appropriate time, have our voices heard in UNISON to carry out the plans of heros like Ron Paul
But not now. Not ever again.
Because of the one percent, we are a nation divided and divided, again... and divided we shall fall!
So Obama has another four years to do his best to take away the rest of our rights, individually, as states, and as a country in whole, and the best you can do is say you 'voted your conscience'??
Congratulations. I hope you can live with your 'conscience' now because the blood of every Amercian who ever died for your freedom has been washed down a collective drain because of your unheard whimper.
Romney isn't much better than Obama...agreed...but at least we know who he is, his history, though we may not know his future. We can't say that about Obama. We don't know his history, but he has shown that in his future there is no room for the rights of the people or the Constitution of these United States of America. We can see enough of his history to see where our future will probably lie.
So by all means be proud that you 'voted your conscience'... and then don't say a word when we become the leading member of the NWO, or the Bill of Rights is crumpled into a ball and tossed in the trash, or we become the United Socialist States of America, because, after all, you DID 'vote your conscience'.

I'm not saying that they need to take 10 or 20 years to balance a budget. I'm saying that doing it in the first year is unrealistic and bordering on lunacy, especially with the percentages he wants to cut from medicare and military. Cutting spending will not be a pleasant thing to do, but what he is suggesting would not only be unpleasant, but it would also be absolutely disastrous for our military, our economy, and the health of many Americans.

If you think that Romney would have won based solely on the fact that Ron Paul was the VP, then he should also have been capable of winning as a Presidential candidate on his own. Having a load of enthusiastic people at a rally is fine and dandy, but when it comes down to voting and putting a candidate in office, he has twice demonstrated that his support base is lacking. WHY that support base is lacking is not an argument that I am trying to make; I am saying that it simply is not large enough.

Romney lost by too good a margin to blame Johnson. Except in Florida. At current count, if johnson voters voted for Romney he would have won.

Romney can only blame himself... we didn't like him, Republicans or Democrats.. people that voted for him didn't like him, the fact that he got as many votes as he did is a testament to the anger of the American people towards Obama.

Even if the Libertarian party came into prominence, it would just be inducted into the fold if it can't be squashed. Humans make up the party, as they do with any party, and corruption is impossible to avoid. Not to mention, it's all electronically controlled anyway

You can't waste votes because they're already worthless, regardless of what you do with them. Fools.
