I think the time to do that has passed. If we were to make it to 2016, there is no real conservative or tea partier who could win, despite how bad things would be.

The country has now firmly shifted. The social issues that have degraded society are promoted and accepted so much because the majority cannot get passed the emotional attachment to the message and realize the logic and reality of such practices. Fiscal responsibility and limited government has been pushed aside so politicians can maintain power and placate to corporations and lobbiest. The majority of people don't mind because more and more are relying on some form of aid or tax incentive. Contrary to the idea of acceptance and tolerance preached by the liberal democratic party, to challenge any of these core beliefs and practices results in direct and personal vilification and admonition.

The generation of youth we are producing are unable make their way through the non-stop propaganda to analyze and logically understand the problems and solutions, especially through the looking glass of history.

ETA: Not to mention, we have been conditioning people, especially the youth, to accept the nanny state and authoritarian nature of government. They don't know they have lost freedoms and security because increasingly more and more cannot remember having true freedom.

I wonder if the market crash will be today? Despite witnessing europe and her woes, Americans want to go down the exact same path.

Yup, 11-06-12 was the end of American we know. obamas got four years of no restrictions since he doesn't have to worry about the pesky elections anymore, now the ride can really take off straight down.

Sorry to be blunt, but that is exactly what I believe will happen.
Exactly. Say goodbye to any chance of economic recovery.

Obama was re-elected. I think I am going to be sick. How stupid can people be?

say goodbye to your economic recovery. get in line. the fact that you have an internet connection taken for granted, there are people who don't even have a can of peas in their cupboards.

the economic recovery starts with them, and then it'll reach you.

if mitt was elected, it would start with the rich and stay there. and never reach you.

that's why he's not president. be happy, according to obama its a start of a new age. starting from the least up. time will tell.

I am deeply saddened, as i believed America had learned its lesson,

I will most likely cancel my internet service.. delete all my existing accounts .. and shamefully exit this nation.

Id also like to say FU* to all the brainless Obots and the Republic masked as a democracy.

You want to know what happens now?

The mask comes off!

Obama now has no need to try and woo the people in order to prolong his stay in office, unless of course the constitution is changed.

The people of America and the world are about to see the real Obama.

hhmm...so...what country are you going to move to? vietnam or cambodia have free markets, everything has a price there, infastructure sucks, but hey, if you want to drive on a nice road you can pay for it yourself, or garbage pick-up... you might get a wafting smell from down the road, but you can pay someone to pick up your own garbage. be sure to pay plenty of protection money to the police there, and build really high barb-wire topped fences around your property, because there are ALOT of poor people there, with very little to lose, and no hope of improvement.

I'm also going to blame the Ron Paul faithful who whined and said well I'm not going to vote at all.

Perhaps Ron Paul is what the country needed, but he was certainly not what it wanted. but anything at this point was better than Obama.

Well, my mother didn't know who Ron Paul was. My best friend thought he was a young guy...So, I can bet that the country really wasn't even aware of him, thanks to the dirtiness of the republicans shutting him out and the media totally ignoring him.

Thinking long term I think the country will finally wake up in the next couple of years and realize there are actually better parties out there than the reps and dems.

I wonder what Obama's comment to Russia's Medevev meant when he said he would have more flexibility after the election?

The economy will sputter along and become healthier at the same rate.

It's going to take time to get to where we all want to be. There are no magic beans and there are no magic politicians.

Sadly, come 2016 when we are dug much farther out of the hole, we will still be discussing giving the keys back to the selfish teenagers who want to drive us over the cliff again.

Assumptions, such as you have made, have no evidence to back them up. Here is Obama's first term, in a nutshell. I can't see how milk and honey will flow, after this first term mess played out.

most people in those countries have been bankrupt for generations, when you live in a hut with a cement floor and make a couple of bucks a day from your job at apple, exxon, ge, monsanto, subsideriaries...you tend to worry about being financially able to buy enough cooking oil and vegtables for your daily family meal, rather than being foreclosed on.

My exit strategy hinges on the U.S. Supreme Court appointees.

Obama Supreme Court

Retirement Aged Justices:
Antonin Scalia (conservative) - age 76
Anthony Kennedy (moderate) - age 76
Ruth Bader Ginsburg (liberal) - age 79

Obama Appointed Supreme Court Justices:
Elena Kagan (liberal) - age 52
Sonia Sotomayor (liberal) - age 56

If Obama appoints one Supreme Court Justice, I can live with that. Appointing two, I'm out.

Hmm what now.. I am going to put one leg in my pants at a time, and live, get back into my program, hope I have lotsa work this winter, or at least enough to keep me busy til season comes back in the summer. I am going to stop watching the MSM news, stop listening to any political bullcrap. Get ready for Spring training, I can't wait for baseball to come back. I need to head out and go shopping for my Wife's Birthday, need to head out to the mall and buy some xmas presents. I am a bit disapointed but I don't hate Obama, I was hoping we could get a more conservative President for 4 years, but I was pretty sure Obama, was going to win on skill points.

That is that, hopefully people will get on with their lives and stop acting like the World, is going to end... The truth is in 4 years, America, will be worse off then it is now in 2012, that is a no brainer, nothing we can do about it, the Majority of America, has spoken or at least the Inner cities of Amerika...

Oh for the love of God... What did you people expect? You put up a candidate that was clueless. He contradicted himself and reversed position constantly. He openly misrepresented 'facts' in ways that were so transparent he was certainto get caught. In general, Republicans were making outright stupid comments in the media making the whole party looking like lunatics. What did you expect. You shot yourselves in the Johnson. I'll bet you wish you'd put Ron Paul up now don't you? You let yourselves get hijacked by the conservative lunatic fringe. Remember Scott Brown? He was the darling of the Republicans. Pulled the same campaign crap up here in MA and got beat as well. You did it to yourselves.

What's next? Simple. We're going to cotinue to struggle in a global economy that has been a trainwreck. Politicians will put their dysfunctional and distorted parties ahead of the good of the nation and the good of the people. We'll muddle through and there will be no apocalypse --- unless those clowns perpetrate one. You want to substantially change the country? Kick the a**holes out of the RNC. Support meaningful policies. Stop the demagogary.

Besides watching FOX news cringe because the people have realized their lies over the last 4 years.

What will happen now?

Well now Obama has much more freedom to push a lot of executive orders. I know many of you will say there will be more NDAA type orders but the truth is...

We will be much more likely to have Medicinal Marijuana.
We will have much less foreign affair problems.
We will have a much greener and efficient energy grid.
We will have a president that can represent the people.

What else will happen?
edit on 6-11-2012 by THEDUDE86 because: (no reason given)

I am cutting and pasting part of this from another thread similar to this one...

What am I going to do? I am going to be an American. I am going to do my best. I refuse to give up and give in. I refuse to let doubt and worry and despair keep me from enjoying my life and my family.

I am self employed and from where I have been for the last few weeks, things are looking up. I am seeing more work to bid and I have secured a multi month project for me and my associates (associates, not employees)

It is what it is. It's time to stop trying to de-legitimize this man and accept the fact that this is who our fellow countrymen have chosen. It's time to work together to do whatever we can as individuals and a group to get things moving back up the scale.

I am not thrilled but I knew the man I thought was best for the job had no chance of winning.

Two states legalized Marijuana last night. Colorado and Washington. Not medicinal, just flat legalized it.

The foreign affairs will depend on the shadow Gov, and how much they meddle in the affairs of others. As a Libertarian myself, I am kind of tired of hosing our money on other countries...countries that do not like our way of life to begin with. So...on one hand, I could care less about foreign affairs...as far as I am concerned, they can go jump off a cliff...and yeah, that is Israel too.

Green energy? Eventually we need to go there, but not until the technology is better and more efficient. One thing I do disagree with is cutting our nose off to spite our face...we still need coal. More efficient grid? Much of that will depend on the greedy oligarchs and plutocrats that are the owners and investors of the power producing companies. If it becomes our responsibility to provide them with an infrastructure to market their product, we need to see some consideration in energy prices. If they want to keep jacking up the prices, they can build the damn thing with their own money.

Represents the people? Yes and no. The man has a Harvard education. He has never been "one of the guys". I have never disrespected this President as many have. I have disagreed with him many times though. I do not see the horror some folks do...I don't see a grab for guns, but I do see we will prob have to continue to put up with more police state and nanny state agendas. I am actually quite sick of political correctness and the state telling people how to live and how to raise your family. Gladly, my children are grown so I don't have to tolerate that kind of crap.

No children left behind? That equals no child gets ahead as well. The Dept. of Education needs to be shelved and the power of education go back to the states...sure there still needs to be federal allocation of funds, but that is it...no broad sweeping regulations from the fed on education content or standards.

That's my rant and my consolation. I will be an American. I will be my best. I will accept what has happened and make the most of what I can.
