If you consider the Clinton presidency, the bulk of bipartisanship was in the second term..same with Reagan, etc...

If (and that's a big "if") the economy is turning around, I would agree that politicians always try and run out in front of the crowd. It's what they do. However, I think layoffs will continue, and the economy is going to crash within a few months. Wait until the fiscal cliff hits in 2 months, and the middle class absorbs a massive tax increase. It's going to be ugly.

HOWEVER, I don't blame Obama anymore than I blame Bush. The only thing politicians can do is jack it up, but they certainly can't help it. I blame people like Larry Ellison, who took a 25% pay raise, and laid people off last week, while hiring illegal aliens as janitors in Colorado, and pushing for more H1-B visas. That's my take. We'll check back with each other in a few months and see if I'm crazy or if I'm right. Either way, I'm buying more ammo tomorrow and more freeze dried food.

Well, the economy is turning around. Even conservative economists are saying this now (they were trying to be low key about it pre-election for obvious reasons) but bipartisan economists were saying turnaround has been going for months and months now. Not super quick, but steady.

I personally blame horrible trade laws and full scale both side corporatism catering for a couple decades now for where we are ultimately at. The people stopped mattering, lobbiests are the only consideration now.

Hope you're right. Honestly, I do. All I know is that I've seen a lot of people laid off lately. Where I'm sitting here in Colorado, it's not getting better.

Horrible trade laws? Perot's "large sucking sound" comes to mind. Democrat President...Republican Congress...Screwed Americans. NAFTA killed us.

What the full acceptance was the full acceptance of liberty for EVERYONE and not just for old angry white guys.

Yes, social conservatism is on it's last legs. It failed to change with the times and just like everything that completely refuses to change with the times it struggles then finally goes extinct.

Now, you do have a point, this country does definitely have a centrist right view of economic conservatism. But social conservatism and all it's fascist facets has completely failed.

The vast majority of Americans don't believe that same sex marriage will do anything bad to them. They don't believe that anyone has the right to dictate to women how they govern their bodies.

Yes, social conservatism has completely failed. Now will they take with them the fiscal conservatives? Of course not, but hopefully the right will abandon the extreme right in favor of real solid ideas.

Expect nothing more than gridlock. This was really a tie in the popular vote, in the end it looks like Romney might win that. There is no mandate,. there will be no "liberal" policies (as obama is not liberal) and the GOP will likely make a push to get the Senate by kicking the tea party out completely.

I am not a retardican or a dumbocrat, I don't listen any MSM as they are all biased and lie nonstop to make their particluar side looks good and make the other look bad.

I was hoping that most people had a brain this time and went 3rd party, as it is the only actual way to get the changes we actually need.

Unfortunately, I will finally be joining the "prepers", and no longer work for the greater good of the country, I will simply work only for my gain, and the welfare of my family.

Every single one of you that think red or blue was the right way to go after decades of of history showing the fact that your wrong, deserves 4 more years just like the last 4.

Me? Lol, I will be fine, I know how to survive, that's what my family teaches our kids.

I wouldn't say it's been dismissed. We aren't talking about a large margin of victory. This is a very polarized country and that will continue for some time. The future for the GOP is bleak if they can't shave off some of the Latino vote from the Democrats.

I consider them both equally dark siders, working for Bush Sr., Kissinger, Rothchild's, Rockefellers and the most murderous people on the planet, and puppets.

But, as far as votes go alot of fundamentalist Christians will not vote for Mormon's who their own ministers would say are occultists.

well the next four years are going to finally catch up to us I think, foreign affairs will be interesting, our deficit needs to some how be adjusted with a liberal as hell President, I have no idea how that is going to happen maybe raise gas taxes or something.. Taxing the rich to fix it is a joke because the rich do not work, as I have been saying over and over again...

Raising taxes on business owners like lawyer doctors etc, will hurt the employee's excuses for no raises excuses for layoffs...

No matter how you look at it, next four years will be a reality check for the people living in candyland...

Thats sort of what your supposed to do anyhow..the only question then is how far is the welfare of yourself/family extend..
does it extend to the environment? does it extend to warfare with other nations (iran), etc.

As far as going third party...actually, the right may indeed fraction now (possibly more than in half) and this in turn will give rise to a very possible 3 party system (or even 4). Ron Pauls social liberalism/fiscal conservatism may finally take hold and grow strong.

but this had to happen. the right is a lost cause now overall as it stands...and should they fraction, the left may find a new home.

Ultimately I am saying, you need to look at consequences down the line..2016, 2020, etc...growth of population, youth mindset, etc..

I see 2020 being at least 3 partys fighting it out (then people will complain about the 3 party system no doubt),

Yes in fact I do, I think that this country should start manufacturing quality goods at affordable competitive prices. I also think that all existing businesses should hire 2 people immediately. This will spurn economic growth far better than tax cuts.

Republicans have only themselves to blame.

They spent the last two years attacking workers, women, Mexicans, the poor, the middle class, and even tried to block all non republican voters from voting.

Thanks Tea Party! Your evil and stupidity kept Obama in the white house!

You want to know how the next generation of republicans win again?

They lose the social conservatives, and reach out to the women, gays and minorities.

It is clear the people don't fully accept it, but in winning the election, it is winner take all. He gets to continue his policies and politics, but the worst thing of all, is how much impact he will have on the supreme court in his last term.

I personally don't think the nation will make it past 4 more years anyway, but if it did, the impacts of his newly liberalized court will screw what is left of the nation for as long as it struggles to stay alive.

Let's make one thing clear:

In America, we haven't voted FOR a candidate in a long time. We are left with our best option to be to vote AGAINST a candidate.

This election, therefore, isn't about accepting anything Obama. Rather, it is about rejecting Romney and all that he represents. The image of the "stuffy, rich, white guy" is just not popular.

And it doesn't help that he is a total tool. I mean, c'mon Republicans....if you can't do any better than that of entering a horse in the race, let us libertarians have a shot. You might find people voting FOR a President once again!

Neither of those ideas are governmental positions. thats company positions.
Like saying that people should smile more.

A solid idea is: a stronger trade law requirement passed between any nation that doesn't have worker standards (aka, hammer slave labor societys like china) and put the screws in the thumbs of corporations that rely heavily on outsourcing to make it more economical to hire local.

Marriage and stuff..thats hairy. Government should have abandoned rewarding marriage long long ago..should have never got into the business of rewarding religious institutions overall frankly. I don't see that changing anytime soon though..but passing a bill demanding a civil union is equal in all ways to marriage would be a good first step while states battle out the marriage thing...that might get people talking about the actual issue here (government interference in a religious institution).

And finally, a firm acceptance of a acceptable economically sound progressive tax rate based on fiscal status of the past and state of the economy at the time.
