My friends and I were talking about the role of the electoral college. Romney had over 1,500,000 votes more than Barack of the popular vote when they called the election. Romney was getting the popular vote and yet it was a landslide with the electoral votes. So does the electoral college represent the people at all?
Someone stated that the electoral college came about in the 1800's when people could not get to the places to vote so they sent a representative of the people of that area to represent them.

It clearly did not happen that way in this election. Liberals complained that Gore got the popular vote in 2000 but Bush got the electoral vote.

So how does that work?

lol. Mitt Romney isn't a capitalist, he is a corporate leach. A financial parasite.

Uh.. hey dude, American elections are rigged. They are no more or less fair than in Russia, there is nothing to indicate otherwise except the people behind the curtain are smart enough to change the puppet every few years. If this was a fair election Romney would have never been the candidate, Ron Paul would have won the first primary state, Obama probably wouldn't have been the president coming into the election, etc etc.

You would think after all is said and done you would finally wake up.

You know I was watching the camera pan the crowd at the Obama HQ and so many are young people, like college age. I think they have been duped by the liberal propaganda machine and their Marxist professors in school.

Oh, no doubt about that! I live in a very red state, and even here, there are liberal strongholds. Where? Well, in this smaller town, it's the university. Even at my church, a pretty conservative place overall, there are some die-hard liberals. Older people, virtually ALL professors at the college. That's no accident. They plan it that way. Brainwash the populace from the time the start school, to the time they are out. There are reasons most liberals are against private schools and home schooling.

So......how long before all those young faces are highlighted by a nice, new, brown uniform?

Obama is winning the popular vote now by about 800,000 votes.

California is only reported at 36%, so that is still going to increase by quite a bit.

Looking at the cnn map most of the counties where Romney won are at 100% votes counted, where the counties in which Obama is doing very well are barely over 50%. I think it's too close to call at this point.

I agree, WAY too close to call! I would have thought the media would learn something from 2000. In any case, I don't plan on sleeping till a LOT more of the votes are in. Then we still have to be sure all the provisional ballots, absentee ballot (especially military!), and so forth are counted. Probable recounts in close states, as either side SHOULD ask for, if it's close. Far from a done deal.

They didn't obviously, and I was watching Fox. Fox was calling States at 1 % voting. It should be illegal to call any state till every single vote is counted. And I saw people sitting on the floor at the Courthouse today waiting to register at 3:30 MDT and their votes will be counted tommorrow as absentee ballots.

Well one thing I will say is the MASK will come off of POTUS face and we will see the real thing. We will see what he and his communist NWO masters have planned for us.

Like I said, we turned off the tv when they called it.

I came home and turned it on again and Fox is not even showing the popular vote.

I don't know any liberals that are against home schooling or private schooling. They just want a public option to go along with it.

And college professors ten to be liberals because they are highly educated, understand history, etc.

They didn't......and Romney didn't even TALK about it. Clearly, he was nothing but a paid actor. No, NOT my first (or 2nd, 3rd, 4th...) choice for the position, but just about ANYONE would be better than what we have! They never used to call states that soon, even if those states were known to go one direction. They did now because it was all decided ahead of time. We have open mic comments (more than one) with O talking about it. We have an electorate that did NOT want Romney on the ballot, but somehow got him anyway (about the same way we ended up with McCain the last time). All the fraud allegations (that I have listed a TON of in my thread - see signature), all the intimidation, all the failures, and the guy still wins? If anyone thinks this isn't rigged, they aren't paying attention. Maybe, just maybe, he can be impeached, and we can hope for something better. Not holding my breath, though.

Yeah, the mask will come off, alright. Great choice of terms there. He's a lot worse than just communist, I think. We shall see. Only a few signs left. Oh, well....don't plan to be here if I am right!

It's very creepy. I don't think any of them know what's coming. I believe that many of those people who voted for him because they thought he represented minorities and women will get a harsh awakening. I watched the faces of those people who sublimely believe Obama is going to fix things and stick it to the rich and wealthy whom they hate so much. They believe Obama is going to bring their Utopia finally, and bring peace to the world, and make people in other countries respect us more because we suddenly will become the nice guy on the block when Obama disables our military.

I do not believe that the Benghazi thing was simple incompetency. Someone is enabling our enemies.

The people have been fed lies. It is so diabolical as to make the head spin.

Obama won the popular vote though...........

President Obama has passed Mitt Romney in the popular vote, and will almost surely win that as well.

The reason: The west coast states are still being counted, including mega-state California.

Obama has been projected the winner in California, Oregon, and Washington, and those votes will be added well into Wednesday.

As of 1 a.m., Obama had 50,237,808 votes -- Romney, 50,113,942.t

They are certainly not conservative. They called states for Obama before even CNN did. They are packed with liberal talking heads. Even many of the so-called conservatives aren't really very conservative.

Honestly, I don't think we have any media sources, save MAYBE a few individuals, that are actually fair and balanced. They are all paid to spin things however those in control want them spun. FNC is no exception.

Please enlighten me how you explain the patriot act, two wars, high oil prices, and lets not forget the big cahuna,

911 that happened on a Republicans watch.

I think the patriot act alone puts repubs in the "Nwo" category.

Or did you forget about all of those wonderful things they did for us, because i haven't.

Blame the Democrat for inherited problems.

If you didn't know that, you aren't paying attention to the issue. There are always protests against home schooling parents, insulting commentary, etc. Massive protests against vouchers, so that parents can send their children to private schools, and not the government brainwashing centers they call public schools.

College professors are liberal because they are mostly communist, socialist, fascist types, that are there to mold the next generation of sheep. They are no more educated than conservatives. They prove, through tie ractions (see tonight's election...) that they do not understand history at all.

Are you saying Fox News is liberal?

Look, they called the States when they knew they could confidently predict the outcome.

Tell me, where they wrong about any of them? If not, then why are you so worked up about it?

Why not take some responsibility for running a weak, impotent campaign with an rich boy canidate who planted the seeds of his own destruction when he disrespected women.

Tell me why you think he was weak? Because you disagree with him being a businessman and a Capitalist? Because you believed the lies coming out of BO's mouth like slimy serpents and creepy insects? Because you believed all that crazy rhetoric about "leveling the playing field" and "spreading the wealth"?

Don't put words in my mouth! I voted libertarian this time. I felt great to vote for a man that deserves my respect.
Instead of voting against the Fascists.

You are so right. They have no idea, and if you try and tell most of them, they write you off as a nut of some variety. I am sure that most of those voters actually do believe the lies. They have been raised to hate the rich, hate those that look different, and so forth, and will vote for anyone that they think is on their side. What they don't see is that he's not on anyone's side but his own. A lot of people are going to have a very rude awakening sometime in the near future.

No, it wasn't incompetency. Someone is certainly doing things that aren't admitted, though I might suggest substituting another word for "enabling". I said, on day ONE, when the news of that attack came out, that it was intentional. All I don't know is the specific reasons. What did Stevens know? When too many foes of one person die under unusual circumstances, a wise person starts to suspect foul play.

No, I am saying that none of them is for any side that they admit exists. The whole thing stinks, from the top down. The powers that be decide who they want, and they direct the media, that they own, to play the cards out, and distract the populace. Of course they can "predict" the outcome, when it's decided ahead of time. The left isn't alone in NWO talk, either; Bush Sr. was a huge proponent of that.
