Obama is really winning. Not just squeaking by.

Out of over 102M votes cast, the difference, right now, is about 260k

51,291,440 Obama
51,033,136 Romney

I wouldn't actually call that "really winning". It is kind of squeaking by. It is about a .5% difference. Noooooot exactly a landslide.

More states are projected to go to Obama. Like Florida.

I was including those.

Back onto the political side of things...

Watch the reaction threads! People are discussing pulling their investments, giving up hope, and all sorts of madness.

I think it is possible we'll see some pretty drastic short term upheaval now from the losing party. Amazing.

Why do all the Obama fans act like great change is coming?? We just had 4 years with Obama and the country is still in shambles, so I'm not sure how everyone is seeing this great change.... But let's be real, obviously a democratic president who gives free money out to desperate "entitled" folks will win, he's essentially buying votes... Well at the end of the day I'm allowed to complain over the next 4 years because I voted for Romney. All you Obama lovers can't complain, you got your wish so you I better not hear a peep out of you over the next term..

Rofl really? I did see a few Johnson got screwed and Ron Paul screwed Romney threads though. I expect the House to act up a bit, but with key losses in the Senate and seats they should have won I think that marriage is over and the few reasonable Republicans left will start playing ball.

Either this thread is epic sarcasm or you have slipped back into the political slumber...

Obama won??...the heralding of a new age??? you have GOT to be kidding me....

I usually like your pov and your threads Heff but good lord you have sunk back into the illusion.

Only part of America has sunk low, the rest of us reelected our Commander in Chief.
I only hope that during this term he tosses that bipartisan BS & steps on the obstructionist reactionaries.
When the Wrong Wing had Dim Son placed in power they trumpeted their mandate, by Obama being reelected with most of the swing states & the popular vote now we have the real mandate.
I sincerely want him to live up to the Wrong Wing insult of Chicago politics & kick the republicans to the curb.

I am happy Obama has won, like I said earlier I did not vote due to no confidence in either candidate. However I did vote Obama 4 years ago and will still take Obama over any of these neocon stooges and especially this corporate muppet Romney. I am a Ron Paul guy, the way I see it an Obama win is a Ron Paul win
oh yeah righties you sure dun goofed. Time to celebrate!

Cheers

If EITHER of them landslides this..... I predict serious incidents of fighting between normal citizens by late tonight and actual violence in the open by morning. Real people. Real Americans getting hurt or killed. ....and it doesn't matter WHICH one would landslide. Either outcome will have the other laughing hysterically at the idea such lopsided results can be taken seriously.....then turning to cold rage when realizing they WILL be taken seriously.

Personally...even if my guy appears to be winning..I have no actual plans to celebrate. Not yet. If Romney wins, it'll be a quiet and satisfied smile of a job well done by all....while being painfully aware that this is likely FAR from over in the minds of about 50% of the population.

50%....either side.
The last 4-6 elections have born that % out at being just about dead on, regardless who won or who was sitting in office. We're divided damn near even. So...if there is a 2/3rd result for either man, the calls of B.S. will be deafening.

^^ One Bunny's prediction.

I'll stick my neck out and say that you're absolutely wrong on this. No doubt there will be some bellyaching in bars and such, but incidents of street violence, let alone civil unrest are not going to happen. This will be for three reasons:

1) Everybody shares a common relief that the election is over.

2) The sky didn't fall the last time Obama got elected, so no reason to expect it will this time around

3) The House and Senate didn't change dramatically, so there will be a near-zero net effect in governance.

Why so many Chicken Littles preaching doom and gloom?

Have to agree with that.

Whether it was just empty words or not, it was a pretty epic speech.

Let me begin by saying, I did not vote for Romney or Obama.

That being said, as I am watching the counts come in I saw something interesting. All the "battleground" states are trending almost exactly the same with almost exactly the same margin. Obama is leading in OH, VA, FL, CO by just about 50k votes, give or take a few.

All of them use electronic voting.

So, all these states they have been talking about for weeks all have electronic voting all of which have had issues and all of them have a 50k-ish margin between the two candidates?

That's statistically odd.

Not really, given that they have pulled as very closed and have been considered/declared battleground states since early in the campaign. The voting has paralleled the last state polls, so nothing very suspicious about it.

And not all of them have gone the same way; North Carolina went by a similar margin to Romney. And Obama lost only two states this time that he won last time around: N.C. and Indiana, so it is not particularly surprising that he won again in the swing states he did.

In Canada we are celebrating and are very happy for America/ns.

Now I'm still a little unfamiliar with politics but with the seats does Obama have a majority government to pass legislature now?

Spoiler: Obama takes his pants down and tells the republicans to kiss his arse, then he pulled out his birth certificate and laughed..come to find out he is from Saudi Arabia...guess we were all wrong.

Have none of you Obama supporters heard of NDAA, NDRP or the murder of the American citizen in Yemen? Do these things completely phase you? Is voting in this country now just an excuse to get off the coach? What the hell is going on here!? People on this website actually voted for this Marxist lunatic? My god I feel so damn hopeless with humanity.

Only conclusion I can come up with is that all of you that voted are completely demoralized. It's not your fault, but you need to make the leap to save your mind.

Of all people to vote for Obama, I would never think people on this site would vote for Romney/Obama.

All of you should be ashamed of yourselves.
