Why is it so hard for Iowa and Florida to count votes?

Why do I hate those states right now so much?

Well, MSNBC and NBC are projecting an Obama win.

*whew* I thought I might have to go through with that.

Are they going to count the absentee ballots on Ohio though? Is it within the margin of error?

Since I've been basically just watching CNN all night (watched a little bit of MSNBC at the beginning of the evening, and have switched to Fox now and then) I'm a little behind since CNN holds off on calling states.

But, if the word about Ohio is true, then now would be a good time to spring the song I've been saving for this occasion.

Dear Republicans and everyone who thought America would kick Obama to the curb:

I can't embed because I suck at tech stuff, apparently, but if I could, I would totally embed a link to John Mellencamp's "Authority Song" right about now.

I don't like how they don't take all the states into consideration. That doesn't make any sense to me that just because he got x amount of "Points" that they just skip the other states.

Anyone care to explain?

I dont support either but I think Romney has it sewed up.

Lets see what the next four years hold...prob not good for me and mine

Wow, you picked probably the worst possible time to start telling people Romney's gonna win.

Anyways, Eric Cantor beat Wayne Powell despite a close-ish race. That's too bad; I really wanted Cantor out of there.

But the good news is Tammy Duckworth is projected to win. As is Tim Kaine. So the night's been a pretty smashing success so far.

See? What did I say?

Worst possible time would've actually been maybe a minute or two ago, actually, but, you know.

Yep. I'm still going to wait for Virginia and Florida projections. Other than Ohio they've been the big stories of the night so I might as well follow them to the end. Plus, I want to see how big the gap ends up being.

Some state have a higher population and are more divided on their political leanings.

I am just curious but does anyone know who has the popular vote. I just don’t want to have to hear how Romney was cheated for the rest of my life.

Yes the Absentee votes in Ohio will be counted the provisional ballots won't likely be. That is why it took so long to project the winner in Ohio it was within the margin of error. They can now project a winner because the mathematical probabilities indicate how the rest of the vote will likely go.

They have taken all the states into consideration. Electoral representation is based on population. The Democrats just happen to win in big population centers like California and Ohio and such.

If Obama's taken Ohio, and with Florida in the state it's in, Romney is 99% done for.

An excellent resolution!

I always try to vote state and local elections -- these things matter.
