If someone could show me one piece of evidence that leads me to believe Israel is the one doing evil then I will pull back on everything I've said about them deserving the right to defend themselves.

From my perspective, Israel has only acted in defense. Sometimes the best defense is offense too. If you want to blame someone, blame the UN for creating Israel in 1948.

But that's over. 1948 is done and gone. We can't beat a dead horse.

Right now we have a country named Israel that's trying to protect itself. We have a people that's deluged with thousands of rocket attacks since 2000. Hundreds of terrorist attacks.

Your response to my posts demonstrates that you know less than nothing about the Middle East. What you know, is what the anti-Israeli propagandists have been pumping out into the international subconscious for the past sixty years. You do realise that there are several hardcore Nazi groups, and several hardcore Jihadists, plus other equally determined & evil groups who hate the Jews, simply because they are Jews? You know that right? Well guess what. Some of them hate Jews so much that they pump propaganda into cyberspace, deliberately trying to get public opinion set against the state of Israel. It's always the same rhetoric & vitriolic nonsense, lacking in reason, lacking in any concerted effort to present a balanced human-centred report - and on ATS it is like a rampant plague. The propagandists (and their lapdogs ..) want the uneducated guys & gals to start mimicking them, so the hardcore crew tend to be amongst the 'cool kids' on the forums - the people whose jackboots everyone wants to polish, in order to earn status as a 'culturally enlightened, atheistic, modern & progressive dandy'...

Get some nuts, as Mr T would say, and read up on the Jihadists & the Nazis, and the way Jews seem to find themselves regularly under the shadow of persecution & death, at every turn, over many centuries. Look at a picture with colour-coded countries, with one colour for Islam, and another for Judaism. It's a tiny little island in a sea of Islam, with that sea getting stormier & rougher with each passing day (especially since the Arab spring started). Consider how much of a sh@£storm could have gone down with Russia & China if Israel hadn't been super-patient with Iran up to this point. It will still kick off badly, as a result of the Muslim Brotherhood taking control of various sections of North Africa. Still, it will kick off much worse if Israel wait for Iran to build a bomb before mounting an attack.

As it goes, Israel have to leave it until the last possible minute, and they have to make sure that America is available to concentrate on helping in the aftermath - at the moment America is down & out with election fever, so cannot participate. It would be unwise to have an overburdened or uncertain government as your emergency contact should the sh£$ hit the fan.

I'll read up on your links. I'm in a strange position really, as my 'specialist subject' (sort of) is the religion of the Middle East - yet I'm so busy with other stuff these days, that I tend to not catch all the latest news stories. As demonstrated in my first post in-thread, I sometimes miss topical points that are relevant to the conversation....
