The Once Mythical Obama is Now Fighting For His Job: What Happened? Let's Look.

The fact that Obama is now fighting for his political life is one of the greatest political stories of our time, and there will be books written about it one day.

Look at where he started: he placed his hand over the bible Abe Lincoln was sworn in on in 1861. He had a 68% percent approval rating 3 days after he was elected. He was in a political position most politicians only dream of, and was broadly backed by the American people. He won by 9.5 million votes.

He had a democratic senate.

For a time, that democratic senate was fillibuster proof----60 members.

He had a democratic house, with a colorful energetic speaker.

The mainstream media loved him.

He had demoralized the conservative party, fracturing them.

His stars were perfectly aligned. He could do anything.

What happened?

At a certain point, he left the room.

Early on in the presidency, he made two terrible mistakes.

The stimulus bill was a disaster, and it wasn't the cost, it was the content. We were in crisis, losing jobs. It was the same old pure pork aimed at reliable constituencies, and would course through the economy with little effect.

Then, health care. His preoccupation with ObamaCare signaled that he did not share the urgency of people's most immediate concerns: JOBS, the economy, all the coming fiscal cliffs.

We had just met Obama, and we didn't have the trust built up yet for something like ObamaCare. That takes the kind of trust you have to build, because it is so all encompassing.

WHY DID THE PRESIDENT MAKE SUCH MISTAKES?

Because he had so much confidence, he thought whatever he did would work. He thought he had the "gift" as he is said to have told SML Harry Reid, or a "special ability" as he told House Speaker John Boehner.

Unfortuantely, he did not have the magical ability to sway, but he didn't seem to notice.

It's one thing to think you're Lebron, says columnist Peggy Noonan, and it's another thing to keep missing the basket and losing games and still think you're Lebron.

And that was really the problem.

He didn't second-guess himself more, doubt himself. He kept going forward as if it were all working.

Whatever happens, Obama will never have the mythical status he once did, the weeping, teenager-like folks in his audience crying and waving their hands like they were in church.

If he is reelected today, he will continue to struggle....

He will not be a different president.

His golden opportunity for hope and change has ended, and I'm afraid the next four years will likely be the same as the last.

The conclusion that is most logical is...it's not his doing. He is a puppet like many others in positions of power. Put there in order for folks to believe it's a democratic rule. If real power would openly direct and control, people would rebel. So you need a likable face...someone to pule the veil in front of your noses. He can promise a whole lot of "beautiful" things in his campaign, but it all changes once he is in office. The record so far confirms this. It seems as though the state official policy always differs from those promised during prez. campaigns. Because it's a beauty pagent.

This is what this election is all about...finding the most likable face for the people to believe. Has nothing to do with running the state.

I would also like to add, that we, shapeshifting reptilians from Alpha Draconis, are very pleased that our own representative Mitt, is so close in this race. We thought that his, clearly reptilian features, would be a burden to his campaign, but we gave the humans too much credit for that one.

He is currently battling very hard to keep his human form, so bare that in mind when you criticize.

What happened is that he didn't fulfill all those pie-in-the-sky promises (like cutting the deficit in half and not hiring any lobbiests in his White House). That .. and at least some Americans who were O-Bots (not all Dems are O-Bots .. but you know the type I'm talking about) have woken up from the 'hope and change' mantra and can see what is actually going on.

What happened ?

Well maybe the average person got wise to the Bee-Ess.

Maybe all the people who had half way descent jobs a few years ago got wise.

Obama broke more promises than Carter's got pills.

Not only did he break them, he went total opposite and Disintegrated those Hopes and dreams

When people found out that Barrack Hussein Obama was enrolled as a Muslim child in school and his father and stepfather were both Muslims, people said it didn’t matter.

When he wrote in another book he authored “I will stand with them (Muslims) should the political winds shift in an ugly direction” people said it didn’t matter.

When he admittedly, in his book, said he chose Marxist friends and professors in college– people said it didn’t matter....

It's people. It's blatant disregard for anything but money. This is the root of your problems. Not Obama, not Romney, not socialism or Democracy. It's human nature. Human being will kill, lie, steal...and no democracy is going to change that.

No left or right shift in politics, or switching presidents is going to change this. Only a global change in human conciusness. When we do that...it will not be important what is the nature of the political system in place.

It's called elections...every 4 years a President must re-apply.

People lost trust in him. Americans are not stupid....a little naive at times, but most are able to see through all the hype once the smoke clears. He speaks out of both sides of his mouth, has proven to be lazy and self-absorbed, and openly despises most Americans. The POTUS should be president of all Americans regardless of political affiliation and he should have the ability and energy to reach across the isle to accomplish the things the American people need accomplished. IMO, he was a total failure.

Uhhh...WHAT? The day after he was inaugriated the GOP announced their #1 job was to make him a 1 term President (fail by the way). What makes you think that somehow the President hasn't been fighting for his Job for the past 4 years?

A better question would be how the hell the GOP managed to lose an election under near dreamlike conditions to oust an incumbant and an unprecedented 1 Billion dollars plus to spend attacking him?

Even a narrow win for Romney...which is near impossible...would be a failure for the GOP. The stars were aligned perfectly for them to win by a landslide...and yet they managed to fail.

I appreciate the reflective tone "what happened"...but the idealogical right would do well to ask that question while looking in the mirror tomorrow morning...without change the GOP is speeding toward obsolescence.

The "Mythical" Obama was a creation of some on the far left and ALL on the far right...and assailing him as a failure by those standards manufactured for political agenda convenience seems grossly dishonest.

It was the far right, not the left, that labled him immediately as the "Messiah"...because Messiah's are destined to dissapoint and be fit for crucifying.

Apparently you are one of those conservatives that thinks that government creates jobs? Owes you a job? Or that President Obama should somehow nationalize the oil global oil industry? Not certain how you blame him for your unemployment while at the same time aping "government does not create jobs" or how you blame him for fuel prices that are dictated by a global market?

And not sure what to say to someone who believes that government is hovering drones over their house? Or who is afraid to speak because they will be arrested?
