From the link you provided:

November 4, at approximately 9:53 p.m., FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant experienced an automatic reactor shutdown. The automatic reactor shutdown was as a result of a main turbine trip that occurred while regularly scheduled turbine testing was being performed. Nuclear power plants are built with “defense-in-depth” safety design and construction. Every nuclear power plant has multiple back-up safety systems, including an automatic safe shutdown mechanism that initiates in response to certain conditions or plant indications, according to Tammy Holden, Entergy communications specialist. The FitzPatrick plant responded according to its design following the turbine trip and all plant safety systems responded as expected, she added. “Entergy is committed to the safe and reliable operation of FitzPatrick and all its facilities. The health and safety of our employees and the public is our number one priority. This event posed no threat to the health and safety of our employees or the public,” Holden said. The cause of the turbine trip is currently under investigation, and plant personnel are working to identify the cause.

Nice catch. Im sure the members will be all over this. Not surprised there isnt anymore info on it at the link you provided. Not seeing anything on the news either. Not that any mishap involving Nuclear is small, but hopefully this isnt major if that made sense

Wouldn't this be all over the mainstream media now if it happened over 3 hours ago?

Evidently it was in response to a turbine trip and the plant shut down. Seems a built in safety designed feature.

From your source.

This event posed no threat to the health and safety of our employees or the public,” Holden said. The cause of the turbine trip is currently under investigation, and plant personnel are working to identify the cause.

From your site. No danger. It was an automatic shutdown during maintenance.

Speculation but a turbine tripping should not be a big deal. It's should not be something unexpected. Whether the rest of the plant worked correctly is something different and hopefully it did.

Wow, 90% or so of the description of the event is basically an 'all good, it's safe, nothing can ever happen, carry on, nothing to see here'-message.

If I had been writing this on a conspiracy site, I might had called it slightly suspicious.

Oh wait..

This can not be accurately be called a nuclear event.

A nuclear event would be an event that resulted in a nuclear detonation. A release of radioactive material would be a radiological event.

This meats neither criteria, by a long shot.

Found this info from NRC:

AUTOMATIC REACTOR SCRAM FROM FULL POWER FOLLOWING TURBINE TRIP "The reactor was scrammed on a valid reactor protection system activation caused by a main turbine trip. The cause of the main turbine trip is under investigation. All control rods fully inserted. All isolations and initiations occurred as designed. High Pressure Coolant Injection (HPCI) and Reactor Core Isolation Cooling (RCIC) initiated as expected. RCIC injected into the reactor coolant system, HPCI did not, as expected." This scram was characterized as uncomplicated and the reactor is stable in Mode 3. The plant is in a normal post shutdown electrical lineup. All systems functioned as required. The NRC Resident Inspector has been notified.

Thanks for pointing out the description, I did not realise they already updated this section, they should really update the "unknowns" from the summary then!

In regards to time and dates, I wonder why description and summary reports different date and time. The UTC-US time difference does not add up. I am sure there is a valid explanation but I just wonder..
