WOW you so shouldn't have started a relationship with a person who had a kid then! It's your fault!!

Just my experience with friends and their "Evil" step kids....They treated like a step kid and it showed! If you aren't willing to love a child as if it were your own then DONT get involved. It's a child!!!

If you raised this kid then some blame can be on you then for how this kid acts, ever think of that instead of blaming a kid?

My oldest broke up with a guy here relatively recently due to a child and baby mamma drama. SHe knows what she does and doesnt want to deal with.. and what she is and isnt capable of dealing with. Its a package deal when kids are involved. SOme folks are smart enough to inspect the package. wait... that didnt come out right..

Well I'm 21 and live with my mom and stepdad...we have a pretty tense relationship, although he's helped me out/given me a few things (like my "husband": The Star Wars Vault book)

We go to school together, but I just mainly shut down and keep to my room so they won't be bothered by my presence. Sure I get the occasional bitch about finding my own place/job/what have you, but I try to contribute the best I can.

OP: I've seen this happen, my step brother snapped on my dad once and took him a while to calm him down, but these days they're cool with eachother. It just takes time...try to find something you have in common with, like NASCAR, sports, fishing, hunting, guns...whatever.

I can't imagine navigating my childhood while keenly aware my mom, my dad, and then the woman he married, didn't want me. The pain and rage would be blinding. OP, if you always made her aware that she wasn't yours, you didn't choose her, and she wasn't wanted, please get her out of your house right now. She may make an attempt on your life. I would have. And the sentence would have been lenient.

I didn't realize she was 21 or know what the situation was...it does change things up a bit. She is an adult, should be able to respect your home and rules. Sorry if I was harsh in my previous post...I thought you were talking about younger children. The 21 year old needs to just figure it out for herself. Best of luck to you!

Funny, my step kid turned out right and always respected me and never caused or got into any trouble and it was the same deal, the real father wanted nothing to do with him. My chid'n both are holy terrors and cause all sorts of trouble and find trouble wherever it is. They scare me! I have to avoid them at all costs of they will beat the crap out of me for the pure sport of it.

It's really bad. I have to keep locked in my room anytime I'm home as they have taken over my house. They don't pay a dime, but they have squatter rights so I can't evict them.

My point is, if you aren't living under the conditions I am you don't know what evil is, Nephew.
