Proof: Obama Refused to Call Benghazi 'Terror,' CBS Covered Up

In an astonishing display of media malpractice, CBS News quietly released proof--two days before the election, far too late to reach the media and the public--that President Barack Obama lied to the public about the Benghazi attack, as well as about his later claim to have called the attack "terrorism" from the beginning.

CBS unveiled additional footage from its 60 Minutes interview with President Obama, conducted on Sep. 12 immediately after Obama had made his statement about the attacks in the Rose Garden, in which Obama quite clearly refuses to call the Benghazi an act of terror when asked a direct question by reporter Steve Kroft:

KROFT: Mr. President, this morning you went out of your way to avoid the use of the word terrorism in connection with the Libya Attack, do you believe that this was a terrorism attack?

OBAMA: Well it’s too early to tell exactly how this came about, what group was involved, but obviously it was an attack on Americans. And we are going to be working with the Libyan government to make sure that we bring these folks to justice, one way or the other.

CBS News held onto this footage for more than six weeks, failing to release it even when questions were raised during the Second Presidential Debate as to whether Obama had, in fact, referred to the Benghazi attack as an act of terror before blaming it falsely on demonstrations against an anti-Islamic video. The moderator, CNN's Candy Crowley, intervened on Obama's behalf, falsely declaring he had indeed called the attack an act of terror in his Rose Garden statement, and creating the impression that Romney was wrong.

The entire system is rotten to the core.

He LIED through his teeth!!!!!

Fact check - Mitt Romney accuses Barack Obama of failing to call the attack on the US embassy in Libya as an act of terror until 14 days after the attacks. But Obama did use the term in the Rose Garden the day after as we show.

While you're parsing the statement in the Rose Garden, applying your own desperate interpretation to what was said, you're ignoring the man's actual statements just shortly after.

Moreover, the video exposes the other lies he told for weeks.

Right, attack the source and remain silent to the plain facts displayed in the video.

No wonder this country is failing...

Who cares what Obama called it. Terrorist attack, murder, atrocity, tragic event, etc.... Why keep harping over terminology? Does the terminology used change the outcome of the event? Would it have brought the dead back to life?

Here is the only important thing Obama needed to say so early on in the investigation:

obviously it was an attack on Americans. And we are going to be working with the Libyan government to make sure that we bring these folks to justice, one way or the other.

BTW, no matter how many times anyone attempts to claim otherwise; Obama declared this an act of terror in the Rose Garden within 24-hours of the event. You are entitled to your own opinions, but you are not entitled to you own facts.

Of course, you skip the fact that the context could have equally (more likely, imo) applied to the ORIGINAL 9/11 attacks.

You can't have it both ways... Either he acknowledged it was an act of terror or it was the result of a spontaneous demonstration.

It can't be both. Either way he LIED to the American people and world.

Nope, he said it was an act of terror, in which it was. They did not know if it was an organized attack from a terrorist group until sufficient intelligence came in later on.

I think people forget the the attacks on the consulate in Egypt did start from the video. Things can get confusing in the fog of war.

Oh my, just unbelievable.

Fox News is trying really really hard to make Benghazi an issue, the problem is that besides passionate Obama haters, no one cares. Because Obama did nothing wrong, there was an attack, there was a response, 30 Americans were rescued, sadly 4 lost their lives, Obama addressed it for the next several days calling it a terrorist attack and saying the investigation is still ongoing.

Stop using dead Americans as your political props, it's disgusting.

First Obama's mention of "Terrorism" is in relationship to the 9/11 tragedy, not Benghazi - but you knew that already and have simply failed to acknowledge it. Secondly, the man went out of his way to explain why it WASN'T terrorism in the days following the murder of 4 Americans!

Lastly, "No one cares about these STUPID ISSUES that the GOP is trying to create"??? So basically what you are saying is that no one cares about foreign policy, a president who lies to Congress and his country is essentially unaccountable to anyone but himself and that our government systematically sacrifices people's lives at the alter of terrorism?
