As if the folks in NJ & NY aren't dealing with enough on their plate, looks like a small quake hit the area early this morning. It wasn't a big one but still rattled some nerves once everyone woke up I'm sure.

How does a 2.0 "shake" anything?

From what I understand, only instruments can "feel" a 2.0 quake. Such a reading can even be attributed to other events, such as the detination of a small amount of dynamite or construction/quarrying blasts.

According to the USGS, 2.0 magnitude "quakes" are occurring continuously, around the world.
