I was expecting something by now - perhaps "Disclosure" or an extraordinary event or merely something halfway tangible.
2012 has really been quite a disappointment so far - the Whitehouse lawn remains steadfastly unmarked by saucer feet.
As the Christmas jingles kick in, and we gear up for the consumptive weeks ahead, still nothing particularly meaningful has come up on the radar.
We've had the Baltic mushroom, the Grecian goats, the tiny, tiny buildings on Mars, the usual plethora of Chinese lanterns, youtube vids of fuzzy distant lights in the sky and various, strong opinions about the nature of "extra-terrestrials". Are they harmful? Are the human? Are they in fact Demons? Are they here, or there?
It's actually been a slow year if it's meaningful information and evidence your after.
And we running out of time. So, will 2012 deliver, or do we gear up for yet another year of chasing lights?

Possibly the calm before the storm?

Expectations are high in regard to what 2012 brings and you are right nothing out of the ordinary has come up. I, for one am hoping for business as usual.

Why should anything happen in the first place? Because a calendar ends and we interpreted it the wrong way? Stop trying so hard to believe there is something going to happen, nothing is going to happen.

I can't wait to laugh at those who bought into the 2012 end of the world Mayan silliness, on this site and in the 'real' world.
ATS has been a great source of amusement to me and I look forward to the next new end of times doom porn - I'm guessing when nothing happens by Dec 31st it'll be the 2013 comet that'll make the same gullible folk shout "the sky is falling"

There is more to this than just the ending of a calendar.
Where have you been for the past 11 months????

I'm not convinced myself that anything significant is going to happen. I think 2012 has been a victim of hype and opportunistic creatives/ business people utilising late-90's web design aesthetics.

If any of you out there think that between now and 23.59hrs on the 31st Dec. 2012 that something good, bad, informative (Disclosure) or otherwise is going to happen then I'm all eyes.

2012 has been a fantastic year for me, and I have no doubts that 2013, 2004.....and so on will be equally as well.

Get your head out of the muck for expecting something catastrophic. Go take a walk in the pare, or perhaps better, go spend some time working at a local charity.

Life is what you make it.

Personally, I am not expecting anything out of the ordinary to occur. My hope is that the current potus will lose this election and we can get back to prospering this country. Otherwise my hope is for the Rapture.

However, as I pointed out to the other poster who seemed to think that the only indicator for something unusual happing this year, and specifically on 12/21/12 that there are other indicators of change.

2012 has been exactly what i have expected. And i bet rest of the year and especially 21.12.2012 will be just like i have imagined it (=no doom, no aliens just the same old and then new doom dates & excuses why nothing happens on 21st)

When did UFOs get into the 2012 mix?

Aside from nothing out of the ordinary happening, I don't know why there would be any link at all between 2012 and UFOs. 2012 is much ado over nothing.

Disclosure will come through the people, not the governments. And as far as I can tell there are even more retarded replies being written on some of the UFO threads this year than any others, so no, people still refuse to accept it and help move disclosure into light - we're still not close at all. As for actual sightings this year, well, they've been pretty tame, have they not? But 2012 is not a 'UFO flap' year from what I can tell.

If you want disclosure, YOU have to go out and start talking about the subject. When you go out and hear other people talking about it, and then when such things are being talked about by everyone on a regular basis, I think then you can feel we're getting closer. But internet sites don't count. It's about what goes down IRL, it's about how YOU disclose the subject to others.

Your question is also being answered in the similar thread: "According to the telegraph Ufologie is dying!"

It seems to me that "UFOlogy" serves the purpose of enabling individuals to embark on a personal spiritual journey, or a way for talented special effects graduates to find work in the film industry.

Not specifically more irritating motes of light in the sky, but more leaning towards Disclosure. Perhaps a mass sighting, something revealed. A recorded interview of credible high echelon military personnel. Someone big and important with big important facts.

I'll be waiting. And no, I do not believe it's up to us to "spread the word". I'm not a member of a cult, charity or religious group. I'm not mad. honest guv.

Yes, something profound and amazing WILL indeed happen on December 21st:

The winter Solstice! (summer solstice in the southern hemisphere). I can hardly wait.

On the very next day, the days will start getting longer by a few minutes each day, the sun will rise slightly higher and higher in the sky each day, and we can look forward to the Spring equinox and the Summer Solstice in June of 2013.

12/21/12 will be a fantastic date of profound change, and I, for one, am looking forward to it! The fact that it is the same thing that happens every December 21st of every year, and has done so for over 4 Billion years is of little consequence. I still think it's magnificent - and NO ONE is going to take that away from me!

Carry on...

It would be foolish to dismiss the idea that ailens exist and that absolutely nothing will not happen as there are always possibilities. But I concur that it seems unlikely anything will happen. One thing I DO know with absolute certainty will happen on Dec 21st is that I will have a hangover from celebrating my birthday the day before!

Seriously though, although 2012 has been made out to be something it is not, let is not distract from the very real probability that Earth has been visited and we are still waiting for official First Contact. I beleive the event has already happened incognito but we the plebs, the masses have yet to be informed....
There may be very good reasons for doing so, in the past it may have been because we are not ready. I dont beleive that to be the case anymore, but there may be other factors at play. One only has to look at the religious hot heads in the world today....

Possibly it has now become a date that they can use as "an excuse" to explain some kind of extraordinary phenomenon.
