Why do we condemn the nazis when America has committed equally evil deeds?

.Oh, and just so you know, I have a very close family, who are Christians from Poland. The father watched his whole family being slaughtered while he was a child in Poland. They were Catholic, actually. He escaped, and traveled the whole world, living in several countries, until he made his way to Mexico, and was adopted by a Catholic family in the US.

He was the only one to survive in his family.

Genocide does include innocents.......the Nazis were non - descript in who they chose to slaughter. It wasn't just Jews. Genocide does include just groups of people who happen to get in the way...

Much like what American settlers did, and that was way before the civil war.

That, is Nazism.

Okay, then explain the civil war in respect to this, and your opinion? You brought it up in the thread. How does this apply to Nazi's?

The Civil War was a fundamental separation of ideology. An attempt by states to rebel against the Constitutional authority of the Union. As a result a war erupted started by the South.

It was not Genocide.

Sorry, but I disagree. No matter what a group is, if it is large, and in the way of war, when they are killed it's genocide, regardless of religious faith, ethnicity, or whatever.

No it isn't.

History, especially of the negative sort has a tendency to be forgotten and repeated.

Do NOT allow it to be forgotten if you want it to happen again.

The uprising of Socialism is terrifying to those of us who know what has always happened, and will happen again because of Socialism.

Nazi ideology was fascist interpretation of socialism. Hence the name of the party" national socialist party"

Europe has no short supply of racist socialist now. This is nothing new or old. Still part of life.

Blame the brown people or the different people for a societies shortly comings. Then win elections based on fear and xenophobia.

Actually allot of what led to the second world.war was fueled by what the Bolsheviks did in Russia. There was a real paranoia about the forces at work in Russia playing out all over Europe. The Germans saw where Polish leadership was nesting and they acted first. The.Nazis were scum and did horrible things but most of Europe already embraced radical policies and leaders who adored the extremism of fascist implementation of law.

They were bound to start a war sooner or later. Either Russia Italy Spain or whom ever first. It just happened to be Germany.

Not sure why you're responding to me with this.. There were lots of flags that triggered the 2nd World War, but I have no doubt it was 'designed'. I've often wondered why the Germans at the time were so enamoured with the concept of a tall, blond, blue eyed race being preached to them by a short arsed, dark haired, jew. Look at the history of it from our current perspective. The 2nd world war was ostensibly about preventing the unification of Europe under German rule, fast forward to today and we have a unified Europe under German rule. So what the heck was all that chaos, death and destruction for? The League of Nations and a Jewish homeland that's what. Oh and a general guilt trip that prevents us from seeing the horrors that are being perpetrated by Israel today.

Uh uh, and this is 2012.

Sad world we live in when you can base something alive and well on something we should have but have not grown out of....

Sorry to but in, but......

During The American Civil War the Union did not set out to exterminate all or even part of the Confederate population - it sought to defeat The Confederacy in a war - it was a war, not genocide.

Hitler sought to eradicate all Jews and other 'undesirables' - that is genocide.

Pol Pot committed genocide in Cambodia.
The Hutu's in Rwanda attempted to commit genocide on the Tutsi's.

Unfortunately there are many examples of genocide throughout human history.

Many, if not most, nations have had to endure a civil war of some kind during it's history.

During The English Civil War there was a conflict of ideaology that resulted in war - brother fought brother, whole communities were divided.
Of course there were other contributory causes.
Many people died.
And I dare say atrocities were committed.
But at no time did any side attempt to commit genocide on anyone.
The same as no-one attempted to commit genocide during The American Civil War even though atrociities and acts of barbarism no doubt occurred.

The US isn't unique in this.

Unfortunately it seems a failing of mankind as a whole.

Abolutely he would of. The man dumped millions into weapons development, including trying to develop nuclear technology, long range rockets and pilotless planes.

Thank you very much for your well thought out, and very succinct post. I still don't quite see it that way. But I really do appreciate the way you put it, and will make every attempt I can to change my opinion of what genocide means...not to say that I will, but the way you stated it, makes me want to investigate it more.

You are correct about the perspective gained by the juxtaposition of hitlers vission of Europe and the current "union" I applaud the UK for setting limits and so preserving its national identity and idiosyncrasy

The rest of Europe is screwed in the long run. Should have listened to the voice of the opposition to the league of nations. There was a valid reason why it failed. The UN has made more war of security and imposed more on nations than any single entity overtly and covertly. The EU has the same fate. They will make a EU army soon and put it to good use. The USA has its "contract" expiring soon and mercenary armies fill the gap in the meantime.

Then the US will be scaled down in terms of military and the UN will seamlessly command the new EU army without opposition.

Happy to. It doesn't become genocide just because of numbers. That's not the criteria to call something genocide even if you state it is.

Genocide means something specific particularly 'the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group'.

Not just killing a lot of people.

I actually find it a terrible shame Nazi Germany had to commit so many heneous crimes (on who's orders?)

If you casually skip over that hiccup - they were probably one of the most aspiring, innovative peoples on the planet.

Just think what the human race might have achieved in regards to science, spirituality, occult, and technological advancement!

Sorry - I guess thinking outside the box like that makes me a demon! Lol.

What can I say? I always like to find the silver lining!

Easy Peasy isn't it? And the world slumbers on.
Not so sure that the UK should be commended for anything though. They're staying out of it all - so far - because the elite have their major base there. The UK owns the US through the Virginia Company, the so called "Special Relationship." The Bank of England is the jewel in the bankers crown and of course the present tennants of Buck House.

You do know that the US had more than 100 years to reverse that policy but chose not to.....right?

In fact the US opted to take an even more extreme expansionist policy against Native Americans.

I have no intention to pass comment on that - that deserves a thread all on it's own - but the point is I thought the whole idea behind The American Revolution was to govern yourselves and be masters of your own destiny - why then attempt to pass responsibility for an act onto someone else just because it's unsavoury?

It is opportunistic to compare the US to one of histories most brutal regimes and forget the continent that spawned him. I have been seeing an attitude of anti-americansim from the EU that is really starting to settle.in my core. It really hits home. I used to see the EU as allies, but I am starting to see them as future enemies.

Bite the hand that protects your interests. Go ahead. We don't need a world in balance beyond the worlds wealthy need a market in their complete control. After WW 2 the US took over where Europe had imposed its influence because it was in no shape to influence the world.

Now that it wants to reassert its former glory they demonize the US and blame them for everything from world peace not being a reality to the financial collapse. All for.what? I will tell you, to take over again and do what they have done all throughout history.

But hell blame the agricultural country you made into the hessians of the world at great expense to their families and culture and when you are back on your feet kick us to the ground.

People here will see the result of the EU's influence on the world. The US doesn't need to protect the interests of Europe's old money. We do because that was asked of us. Now you can blame us for doing the bidding of histories usual leadership. And it ain't Washington.
