Simple kid that day, that summer,
Playing in the street.
Saw a Strange soul, she was sobbing,
Crying at her feet.

Would be different, Should he be standing here today.
Is it wrong? No not wrong.
He’d still like me this way...

They say you treasured me, cherished me
I was gold made out of glass
Time learns life’s lessons
This too shall pass.

You’re still here dad! You can see me! See, I’m strong!
Have to go dad...know this day’s gone long…

One more thing dad,
Until again we meet!
Protect your grand-kids,
They are playing in the street!

Short, sweet and addictive and fun writing and prose. Nicely worded and flows very very well. Nice poetry and a very good over all poem. S+F
