I went shopping today at the local grocery store, and a sign on the front of the freezer door said "Our shelves may be bare due to a shortage of frozen vegetables at the warehouse". There was literally 1 to 6 bags of frozen veggies in the store freezer, depending on the product/veggie.

Anyone else experiencing this?

(Maybe they are just passing the buck for "forgetting to order")?

No. Then again I live in the valley that is the #1 producer of packaged vegetables.

If your supplier/distribution hub comes from Ohio and not California (it depends on the grocery chain), then your supplier may have been impacted by Sandy.

Hmmm...interesting. Where are you located at? Maybe that has something to do with it based on some of the items stored in the warehouse coming from the areas hit by Sandy? Although if that's so, could there then be ever more shortages because of food having to be thrown out due to lack of electricity and it going bad?

probably just that one store chains warehouse

I doubt its a sign of anything but poor demand predicting
or maybe the manager being over frugal with stock and miscalculating

i've posted about this on other threads, this is just beginning.
in 2012 we had severe droughts and floods in the U.S.

here are two reports. one from the USDA and one Money Morning,
the USDA is the one that concerns me most, money morning has a different view that seems very plausible.
