Liberals fear grand bargain betrayal if President Obama wins

This story from Politico suggests that Obama could become a turncoat if re-elected !!!

Possible? IMO about as possible as snow in Havana today

They are worried he will deal with the devil Republicans and cut/slash entitlement money...

They seem to be focusing on some kind of fantastic illusionary "deficit deal" ......

Labor unions and liberal interest groups are going all-out for President Barack Obama’s reelection — but they’re just as ready to turn that firepower back on him if he betrays them with a grand bargain.

These groups fear a victorious Obama would ink a deal with Republicans during the fiscal cliff negotiations that slashes entitlement benefits. And that could hurt the very coalition of voters — minorities, women and low- and middle-income families — that would claim credit for his second term. Even as they turn out the vote in public to keep Obama in office, in private they’re plotting a strategy aimed at pressuring him to protect those who reelected him.

Sounds more like a cover their butts agenda....

I think Obama wants a HIGHER deficit....

He wants even more record setting policies

This story from Politico suggests that Obama could become a turncoat if re-elected !!!

It suggests that CONGRESS could try to heavy-handedly (like a schoolyard BULLY) FORCE him to compromise. Labor unions (and other voters) are fully behind Obama, but intend to hold him accountable and responsible to follow through and not cave in to a "deal" by shrieking, greedy Republicans.

...the big unknown is where Obama would draw the line once he plunges into the give-and-take of congressional deal making.

Progressive activists say they’re reasonably confident that the president won’t compromise on ending the upper-income tax cuts. It’s the entitlements that worry them. They want him to stick more closely to the deficit-reduction plan he released in September 2011 that didn’t go as aggressively after savings from beneficiaries.

There is ALWAYS a danger that a president will be PRESSURED by CONGRESS into making compromises, especially when they (the losing party) are pissed off and act like little kids.

There are good reasons for having a strategy to hold him (or ANY winning politician) to his word. Obama will get a second chance to carry on, BUT his supporters want to let him know that no backpedaling will be tolerated.

Republicans are likely to retain control of the House, and with it the power to derail or approve large items on the president’s agenda, such as immigration reform. They will demand major fixes to entitlement programs and a renewal of the Bush-era tax rates for the wealthiest Americans.

It won't be because he didn't try. The Republican whiners in Congress are going to whine, stamp their feet, and no doubt put even bigger screws to the guy, simply because they can. And lead us into another "government shut-down" due to petulance and juvenile "triple-dog-dares".

I hope people remember to pay attention to the Senate and House races. THOSE are the "representatives" that Progressives need to fear: the vultures like Romney. God save us.

And yet here we have Harry Reid saying, "Mitt Romney’s fantasy that Senate Democrats will work with him to pass his ‘severely conservative’ agenda is laughable.”

They already have a plan in place to keep Congress deadlocked if Romney is elected.

What do you think will happen if Romney is elected and turns out to be a north eastern moderate? That his conservative rhetoric was just to get votes. Don't you think the social conservatives and Tea Party members would fight against him?

TALK ABOUT "BETRAYAL"...

The funniest EPIC betrayal will occur for the Conservatives IF Romney won this election (near impossible anyways). The Conservatives here who spend their LIFE on these forums KISSING-UP and worshipping Romney LOSE so badly with that clown that it is HYSTERICAL.

You see, Romney is a BIG FAT LIAR acting like a Conservative just to get elected. He has to play the part of a Conservative to appeal to the delusional Conservative crowd who is too blind to see that he is PLAYING YOU ALL FOR FOOLS!!! Plus that infamous DIRTY MONEY coming in from (hmmm, maybe the Koch Brothers???) will have any Republican doing a special little song-and-dance for it.

Conservatives LOST BIG TIME THIS ELECTION either way!!!!! WHY on EARTH do you even WASTE your time with that clown?? They are both FAR from Conservative and thank GOODNESS as the common folks cannot afford Conservative trickle-down BACKWARDS ideology anyways.

Guess you all will really be feeling "BETRAYED" when Obama gets his 2nd term. You can COUNT ON IT happening come election night!!! We will continue going [color=skyblue]FORWARD and not BACKWARDS.

Greeding shreiking republicans, like 350 thousand CHILDREN left w out teachers, when the teachers union decided to strike in Chicago because they wanted even MORE money? Despite the fact the avg pay was 71,000 a year plus benefits , some of the highest paid teachers in the US, and they turned DOWN an increase because it wasnt as much as they wanted? Despite the fact that chicagos education system is consistently one of the WORST in the nation?

Yeah.........those greedy damn Republicans........

my vote went to 3rd party
