The United States congratulates the Libyan people on the formation of a government. This is a critical milestone in their democratic transition. We encourage the country’s leaders to build democratic and security institutions and to promote economic development and the rule of law. The Libyan people fought a difficult revolution in order to enjoy a democratic future with peace, security and prosperity. The United States looks forward to working closely with the new government and is committed to supporting the Libyan people during this historic transition.

(CNSNews.com) – Following the Sept. 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi that killed U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other Americans, the U.S. State Department said on Friday that Libya fought a revolution to enjoy a “democratic future with peace, security, and prosperity.”

“The Libyan people fought a difficult revolution in order to enjoy a democratic future with peace, security and prosperity,” read a State Department press release issued on Nov. 2. ................

It's sad that you're right. Most people will associate all Libyans with terrorists now. A surprisingly common trait in our decaying society... Even though we SHOULD be congratulating them on their revolution, and we SHOULD be trying to strengthen ties with them... We as a people are too near-sighted to see beyond the color of their skin or the cut of their religious garment.
