It seems you believe you have the answer. If someone is spreading lies, it should be stopped. When an ancient civilization, in which almost all of its inhabitants conform to a specific belief... that also has been successful for AGES.... upholds its views against outsiders that think they 'know better' than them, i believe it is justified.
.

A couple of points..

Islam is not a civilisation, any more than Christianity is. There are many different creeds and people who make up the "Islamic world"..

Islam is not a unified belief system. There are as many sects and divisions in Islam as there are in Christianity.

I can't honestly believe you're defending a blasphemy law in the 21st century. Surely everyone has the right to believe what they want, not just those who follow a certain religion?

They have existed far longer than the USA as a civilization and culture. In wisdom one learns that spewing negativity in any regard is frowned upon by the universe. To spew it towards the One? Bad idea.

So negativity is more of a criminal offence than murder? You think that someone being "negative" toward something you believe in means that you have the right to end their life? That is some f'ed up God you believe in!

And if this holier-than-thou ancient nation is so marvellous, why is poverty pandemic? Why is disease commonplace? Why are diseases that can be cured everywhere else on Earth prevalent? Why is the drinking water poisonous to millions? Why is there massive corruption rife through government? Why do children starve on the streets or forced into sex slavery? Why, if Pakistan is so wonderful, is it still such a sh*t hole after so many thousands of years?

You'd think that after all that time the country would have some basic living standards for their people, but it would seem not. And on the other hand, the nations that you claim have been in existence for a shorter time have equality, high standards of living, good health, prosperity, less corruption (we have a way to go on all of that!)
Even though our nations are not perfect, Pakistan is clearly still a third-world nation.

Pakistan is a hell-hole of religious fanaticism, massive poverty, overwhelming corruption, disease and death - and your precious religion reigns over it all.

It's no coincidence that Islamic nations are poverty-stricken on the whole, while more democratic nations are more prosperous. You think it's just luck or something? Religious fanaticism in government restricts the people and limits their capabilities. That's a fact. As long as a nation enforces draconian religiously led laws upon the people they will never climb out of poverty.

It's about time the sane people of the world once and for all destroyed all religious craziness and refused to accept it under any circumstance.

I hope that one day I will see every country enacting laws to restrict religion to the privacy of the home or of the temple. No religion in government, no religion in schools, no religion in the military... it's about time we evolved beyond believing in invisible sky wizards and their insane BS.

You are astonished at the impact of the penalty if i had to guess. Thats just how they do it over there. They have existed far longer than the USA as a civilization and culture. I call shenanigans:
1) Muslims aren't civilized. Many Muslims in countries like pakistan still use their left hand to wipe their backside after taking a number 2.

2) Islam is not an ancient civilization. Heck, up until the 1300's most of Asia Minor was Christian territory, and Islam expanded into asia on the backs of the Mongol Horde.

3) Muslims learned to rob the graves of the ancient Greeks in Egypt, but didn't do squat with it. Hell Muslims examples of how "civilized" they are, are from the civilizations THEY BUTCHERED! Heck, the only Ancient Civilization in Islamdom, is the Kurds, or as History records them the "Medians", founders of the Persian Empire(and the bain of Arab's, Sunni, Shiites and other primitive Islamic peoples).

4) Pakistans want to do what they want? Then they should keep their people from leaving their countries and being an annoying bigoted hassle on developed countries(Countries that build power, Countries aren't just land and law's, but a collective of people. It is a people that make a country great!). As far as I am concerned, any civilization that has thousands of it's members leaving every year has zero right to self determination because of the inconvenience they are causing to real civilized nations.

So... they shouldn't agree with their archaic laws if they are sane people....

...And if they are sane people and don't.... they shouldn't be allowed to leave? Stick around and die for having an opposing opinion?

My 2 cents: far too many Muslim extremists out there. Honestly, I've read the Koran and The Bible... they're practically equal in insane indoctrination. The problem really just seems to be the underdevelopment of Islamic cultures.

Basically, Islam is no more evil than Christianity, but many Muslim government structures and organisations worldwide are incredibly more corrupt than Christian ones.
