Can we now put this Myth to rest? Fox is far from balanced or fair in fact it is the worst offender of these practices. It has been pointed out many times but for some they need a graph which is provided here.

Some of us already know FOX may as well be called Republican Campaign Headquarters but some people are still fooled because Fox says otherwise.

For the second day in a row, Fox News devoted extensive coverage to a campaign speech by Mitt Romney, far overshadowing the coverage the network gave President Obama's campaign speech. In fact, Fox News carried Romney's entire 26-minute speech live, while it cut Obama's remarks off after just three minutes.

For me I do not really care that they endorse one candidate over another but them perpetrating the lie that they are unbiased in this is what ticks me off at least the other stations are not trying to claim moral high ground. What is worse is that people believe the Fox lie.

CNN is more pro-obama than any other network but...
I truly think CNN is the best news network. They ask tough questions to both parties, and do fact checking live (anderson cooper).

Although they have been giving Ron Paul less coverage than Fox.

I prefer to see it as FOX is making up for zero to unfavorable coverage by every other network, of anyone but Obama.....

It's no news that Fox is a Republican outlet.

But it is also no surprise that the rest are Pro-Democrat outfits as well.

They do this intentionally as it drives ratings, which equals profits. And truth be told FOXNews is beating the rest hands down.

And the saying, "We report, you decide." is actually a fair statement.

It's always up to us as to what we believe.

Anyone who watches Fox needs to remember this one thing: They fought for the right to lie on air, to the American people... And won. Before Fox news won the right to lie, it was generally considered that newspapers and news channels, being important to the welfare of the nation, couldn't lie on air. Fox News won a lawsuit alleging that they unfairly fired a correspondent who refused to lie about the Monsanto corporation. They claimed lying on air was their freedom of speech and they won. This little lawsuit effectively led to the destruction of news as we know it. It's not that we just don't have any more good anchors, it's that people don't care about good anchors. If one organization is running sensationalist crap that plays on people's emotions, they watch that. Not the real news.

So, before anyone goes on about what they learned on Fox News... Remember that this is their real slogan:
Fox News - fighting for the right to lie on air and sue reporters who refuse to since 1998.

The attorneys for Fox, owned by media baron Rupert Murdoch, successfully argued the First Amendment gives broadcasters the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports on the public airwaves.

a Florida Appeals court ruled there is absolutely nothing illegal about lying, concealing or distorting information by a major press organization.

Source

The above should tell you all you need to know about any and all media and news outlets. No one news source is better or worse than the other. Just a little different in how they present their lies. The same can be said for political candidates.

ETA: I see you beat me to it Strings. Consider this an addendum then.

Great thread.

The fallacy that FOX's bias is somehow balanced
by a cable outlet like MSNBC is stupid.
Compare FOX's sensationalized headlines vs MSNBC headlines anytime.
No contest.
Everything on FOX is ALERT !!! Everyday.
The info babes, their "experts", it's so overdone and outdated.

And Fox complaining about the "Lame stream media"
is like JP Morgan Chase complaining about big banks.
Fox is the biggest and most Mainstream Media of them all.
How can your graph be more clear?

Good news is FOX is a dinosaur that's taking it's last desperate breaths.
So expect more ALERTS!! More Obama's a Socialist !!! in the coming months.

I truly thought that this was a well know fact. Obviously it is not. My sister is a FOX news junkie. Believes everything she hears there. It is so stupid.

i would think the majority of people have better to do than listen to FOX news.

to those addicted to the poison they dish out everyday, when you are in love with a lie, you eat up the insanity.

if russia was freed from communisism and the germans from the nazi ideology, lets hope that america will someday wake up and realize what bs FOX represents.

Ah yes, as Obama's chances continue to dwindle, the ##SNIPPED## come out in force with Biden'ic charts, fuzzy math calculations, and Fox News allegations. What they fail to see (or intentionally troll) is that the American MSM is as polluted as the Potomac River.

Ummm, no...
CNN is as big of a liar as Fox.

The fact is, there is no 'news' anymore, what we used to think of it as - an unbiased truthful account of what is happening in the world. It is 'Info-tainment'.

Independent journalists are all we have left, and even then you have to be careful because who knows what their agendas are.

google 'CNN lies' and see what you find. Hundreds of examples.

This is one of the most ridiculous ones, but they still do it, they've just refined their technique.
"CNN LIES to us, Live from 1991" supposedly live from Iraq youtu.be...

They all lie. Every.Single.Channel.

Yes and no.

In 95% of cases, most people by the time they get home at night already heard the "news" via newspaper or friend or internet. They go home at night and watch FOX because they want to nightly-sensationalised twist.

No man, there is LITERALLY no truth telling mainstream news organization. No TV station, no newspaper, no magazine, nothing.
Wake up.

I watch FOX NEWS, because their women have the shortest dresses and best legs on MSM. You just never know when they are going to switch positions in their seats.

Yes
And its a pity that supposed news networks are for profit enterprises.
News organizations should be funded by tax payers and have no desire to chase profits...this in turn would make reporters report news and actual facts verses try to win over a audience by towing certain lines.

Its disgraceful.

If ratings = credible worldviews..then Honey Boo-boo should be POTUS

Just watch desperate housewives or something.
Better dresses, and arguably a more factual portrait of the world.
