The newspaper endorsements may not carry the clout that they used to however, the message of a changing tide is quite clear considering the usual leftward lean of most newspapers and the number of endorsements that were given to Obama in 2008.

Do newspaper endorsements mean what they used to? Maybe not. But Mitt Romney has over one hundred of them, which is an impressive feat for a Republican. However, Romney’s ability to convert editorial board’s away from their decisions to endorse President Obama four years ago is truly impressive.

According to Editor & Publisher, Republican Mitt Romney is stunning the newspaper world, earning 112 endorsements from editorial boards around the country compared to the President’s 84. Most large market newspapers like the The New York Times and The Washington Post have stuck with Obama, but have ran less than glowing assessments of his accomplishments. So while a newspaper endorsement may not mean what it once did, these conversions could be telling of a national trend.

We'll soon see if this trend carries over to the polls... Interesting nonetheless....

The whole point is that there is a lot of non-liberal media sources.

The large newspapers, like network television and syndicated talk radio programs are corporate owned... They also lie about their circulation figures to sell advertising and sway voters as do TV and radio broadcasters.... The right wing controls us by using these sources and the left wing depends on donations from people with the smallest percentage of the wealth of the country.... There were afternoon newspapers in cities all over the country whose subscribers were blue collar workers that had to wake early and be off to work with no time to read the morning papers...During the eighties there were circulation races between morning and evening newspapers all over the country.... The right wing morning papers lied about their circulation figures and the afternoon papers went out of business.... That is why there is no such thing as liberal news media and we are inundated with right wing liars and talking heads.
