No. The sovereignty of the nation should be respected. You have no right to put boots on the ground without checking with the authority of the nation first. It was not an embassy that was being attacked it was a compound it was not American soil.

Hey and by the American Ambassador Chris Stevens that got killed was facilitating the movement of mercenaries to Syria. The war by proxy. He was no angel. He supported the uprising in Libya. Too little, too late. If they wanted credibility on this issue, they shouldn't have pushed a pack of lies the day this all started. Now, its grown too big, its too fresh in everyone's memory, and they can't walk it back.

The point about China is lost on you, I guess. They could take your vaunted 'secret helicopter' to air shows and let Chinese tourists take photos and souvenirs. There is nothing secret about it, the Chinese had their way with the one that crashed. Do you get that point?

You didn't really address the point that the Obama administration was wrong to release the info that they did about the Osama operation. You said we got our man. He was no longer a real force to be reckoned with in al Qaeda. He was bottled up in a compound in Pakistan. The operations continue to be done by others. We still have al Qaeda to deal with and we still need our methods and operatives to be secret. The Obama White House had no problem releasing that info, since it was a feather in their cap.

They are hiding info in the Beghazi affair. Why try to keep the photos of pre-attack problems classified? Because it is an illustration of how they screwed up before the last attack even occurred.

Could it be that it was a lie sent around by the fanatical and desperate unscrupulous Conservative Republicans in the first place? Truthful people do not have to justify every action to small minded people who believe other people who try and perpetuate a lie. There are liars out there. We all know how to recognize them. They lie. We catch them all the time in many of them. One after another. The lies keep coming. One party uses that as a campaign strategy. Not unlike propaganda during WW2 which is no surprise because happens that party is as closely aligned as any other here in the US with the Nazi Party and their socialist agenda and dictatorship.

This is the first time I'm come across someone who fully buys into Fox News - but not to worry, somewhere, you have a counterpart who is an MSNBC junkie too. Its just the nature of balance - there's two sides even to the coin of foolishness.

Anyhow, this whole Benghazi thing is ridiculous. We're talking about a CIA station which came under attack, followed by a botched BS cover story. Now why the BS cover story? Because that's the nature of the covert world! You don't come out and start naming operatives, not do you "out" a bunch of valuable agents/operatives to save a few lives (unless you're a sleeper agent yourself attempting to destroy your homeland from within.) If I know exactly what is really going on in our nation's covert world...than so do the "bad guys."

Were there screwups involved? Sure. Were there lies? Yep! Should they have acted differently, and told us the truth? Sure, if you want your children growing up in a post-apocolyptic world.

We will never know what really went down. Our "ambassador" might have been part of an operation which just acquired a half-dozen suitcase nukes on the black market that terrorists were trying to re-acquire. Activating agents in response to this may have exposed sources, etc., and made things much worse for us in the future.

That's just one made-up, possible scenario, but let's face it, we have NO IDEA what was really going on. Most likely, the best decision was made in response to a #tty situation. What is amazing is that people don't understand a lick about covert operations being part of our arsenal, and that they continue their feigned outrage.

Many of these same people who are so outraged over a few CIA deaths barely batted an eye in terms of NORAD standdown on 9/11 while thousands were killed. There's another situation - who knows? Maybe our leadership DID know wahat was happening, but had to take it or suffer far more dire consequences.

I know its starting to sound like I think everything can be explained by secrets we don't know which would justify all of the actions of the Neocons and Neolibs. I'm sure they're not, and there are times where they don't make the best decision, but in times like these, they're often forced to choose between two crappier options than us U.S. Citizens do every 4 years.

He gave out the latest intelligence that the video played a role in provoking the attack. Subsequent intelligence that has come out has confirmed that fact. You guys want to ignore that later intelligence, but I'm sorry, it is fact.

It was the Air Force, Army, and the Navy who were ordered not to intevene. The CIA responded on their own initiate before the White House knew about the attack. There was a Spectre gunship orbiting later on that was explicitly to not to fire.

Read the previous stories more carefully. The CIA doen't have gunships.

No one was "left" to die. Ambassador Stevens was caught in the fire, dragged out and brought to a hospital where he was pronounced dead from smoke inhalation. Sean Smith also died from smoke inhalation.

Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were killed in a mortar attack hours after the original attack while they and their TEAM (note, they were not alone) were securing the area and searching for Stevens.

No one was left to die, two died in the fire set by the attackers and two died while doing their duty.

Where is your proof? Anonymous sources "on the ground" in Libya? Blogs?

That is just an asinine statement.

Stevens and Smith died within that 25 minutes.

Woods and Doherty died several hours later. And please note that Doherty wasn't there during the initial attack, he came in with a team from Tripoli 3+ hours after the attack.

Also note, 30 Americans were saved that day...yes THIRTY AMERICANS were saved and evacuated successfully. Yes, 4 lost their lives and that is a tragedy, but if it was such a screw up, then how did 30 Americans survive???
