Love Holds Many Colors

Love holds many colors
Like a rainbow in the sky
Moving from one color to the next
Sometimes seen and some days hidden

One moment the color is yellow
Full of life, shining and bright
The next it could be blue
Holding sadness, regret, or pain

Occasionally it is red
Angry, mad, or harsh
Then it changes into violet
Soft, but vibrant and embracing

Often it can be grey
Never knowing what is next
Waiting for the color orange
Just like twilight skies overhead

The beginnings are all white
Angelic, clean, and pure
Endings are full of blackness
Deceptions, lies, and hurtful words

Love has such a varied palette
Sometimes mixed into various shades
Each color holds a different meaning
Every spectrum we can see and feel

Nearly every day is a rainbow
When love is seen with heart and mind
Whether it’s colors bright or faded
It is real, it is varied, and it is mine.
